This fits pretty well into what my headcanon was in regards to how Pataphysics was started. Some researcher did something, I didn't exactly imagine attempting to quit but it fits, over such a long enough period of time that they accidentally created a person, and then an entire department, all to handle the fact that the Foundation exists in a fictional universe.

In other words, panicked desperate lieing to cover your ass after a failed attempt to quit is the best way to spark the Foundation's study into meta. +1

It seemed only fitting. I got this idea when Rimple told me that "the pataphysics department is not real" and I immediately had this vision of some guy in his office writing these documents instead of doing his real job. And then I just took that to the logical extreme.
