Not badly written, but fairly boring. I'd have liked to see some more detailed examples of the crazy shit this bird does to make itself die, and maybe something as to why its been made this way. There's definitely promise in this idea, but overall I failed to find it interesting as it currently stands. Run this by the chat next time, or the forums if you haven't already. Your tone was pretty good, though, so I think that with the right idea, you could write something that'd stick.
