thanks to uncle nicolini (crit AND css!), communismwillwin, decibelles, scarhaver, a random day, tiefling, cuppabro, filayoung, secretcrow, petrograd, the great hippo, dog teeth, djkaktus! (who was going to be my cowriter before i went and wrote the whole scp myself), and anyone else i forgot.
Always happy to help my friends. :) Here's to another excellent article.
Amazing to watch this grow! Congrats on another great Mister! +1
I'm always jealous of people who have skill in storycrafting. The pacing has such a dark, ominous feel that seems effortless. I can imagine the scenes in this taking place in muted colors, almost black-and-white, like an arthouse film. I'm told this isn't what most GAW articles are like, but if this were the only GAW that existed, I would want to see a lot more of it. +1 and whatnot.
I don't feel like this stands on its own; you need to know other GAW skips to understand it, or at least get the full effect. Also not a fan of including real people in skips; kind of tired of beating that drum, actually. :/ This is gonna look really dated when Elon Musk is still alive in 2027.
SCP-4669 is an Epsilon-Level priority.
Ignoring that Epsilon-Level doesn't sound like a very high priority, I think this is missing something. Containment, termination, neutralization, what?
I would agree, but it seems like Eskobar enjoyed it as his first GAW scp. So I'm unsure what move to make on that.
Also I don't think it'd be dated when he's alive in 2027 because, well, this isn't real. In GAW world, Elon Musk dies then. It's okay if he doesn't in ours. Or even dies before.
It's a mind-bender scip who anomalously converts people to communism via vocal interaction and cannot be contained because she -literally- has the power of plot, and the only people immune to her magic are that way because they've got no empathy for their fellow humans.
…
This is excellently written but the subtext is morally appalling, "it's ok to brainwash people, because if they really care about other people they don't really mind."

That's not at all what's happening here. Did you read this carefully?
Being uncontainable due to the power of plot is one hundred percent dead on though. That's definitely an issue. I could've gone with something stronger than her infantry just manifesting inside.
The angle taken there is that SCP-4669 doesn't brainwash anyone, and the Foundation steadfastly believes that it has to be brainwashing and the like, because there's no other explanation for it in their view. It contrasts with what's actually happening.
I noticed that you upvoted this article's 'brother' (we posted them at the same time because it was cool), Mr. Destiny. I wrote that and I want to say that clearly right now that with the way they function, Mr. Destiny is actually more mind affecting than Ms. Zapatista. Zapatista, like, prevents mind effects.
"Sound of the Police" is easily my all-time favorite MTF name.
The interviews are kinda prosey for my taste. People are a little too good at wordplay and cracking wise, sort of reminds me of the silly interview log from 106-ARC.
Re: the narrative, SCP-4669 seems way OP and doesn't fit the established Misters Against Weed M.O.—the original Little Misters all feel neatly interrelated, like siblings, whereas I can't imagine SCP-4669 having anything to do with Mr. Meme or Mr. Deadly Sins. There's just too much tonal variance in this family and I don't like it.
I describe myself as liking GAW, but I think my biggest issue w/ them is the constant tone shift between light silly articles about left-leaning internet culture, and heavy-handed epics about death and intrigue that are borderline tale-worthy. I prefer a GOI where I can open an article knowing "oh, this is a Wondertainment article", or something, and know for mostly-certain what kind of article I'm gonna read. I just don't like articles structured like this.
And I know there is no canon, every article is its own universe/timeline, yadda yadda, but it's kinda ballsy to a god-modding degree to forecast GAW's fall from grace, like, ten years from present day. That level of certainty's kind of offputting.
I kinda feel like this one would be stronger if Ms Zapatista didn't have 'aleakinetic' abilities. Just two important aspects:
1. The ability and will to make plans and carry them out, no matter how ruthless.
2. A voice that can't be forgotten and that forces the listener to comprehend and think through what she's saying.
I like it though!
