Its another indestructible thing, except this time it gives you cancer, for some reason.
It gave them cancer because the skin flakes got in there lungs and caused severe scarring. This is the exact same thing asbestos does to cause mesothelioma.
I get that, but that just isn't how skin cells, indestructible or not, would effect lung tissue
It's not the cells, the flakes of skin are basically doing the same thing that asbestos does. The skin retains the indestructibility when it flakes off.
Whether you like it or not, history is on our side. We will bury you!
You have indestructible skin flakes in the lung tissue. Your immune cells identify it as foreign biological matter and attack it. Since they cant break it down, the immune cells die and form scar tissue. As the scar tissue builds up, the lungs are damaged, leading to mesothelioma.

Currently, SCP-1636's requests have been primarily for books and videos
I don't think that a child born sometime in the 1930s would ask for videos, especially considering that in the 1940s you didn't really have any easily mobile way to watch them. Bit of an anachronism there. Normally this wouldn't be a big deal, but I think it says something about the article in general- there seems to be a general lack of care and effort here. It looks like something cobbled together fast just for the sake of having another SCP, and because of this it fails to do anything worth while, in my opinion.
This could use a solid proofreading, but honestly? I like how you took the idea and explored it thoroughly over time. I like it.
if your reading this your gay
The "item" itself is really boring at first glance, but the log is great. I think it deserves an upvote. I think this goes for a more emotional impact, I would hate to be that guy.
EDIT: Upon further reflection I think what did it for me is when it described the cysts underneath the skin, as someone who is still getting acne and pimples, this made me shudder.
I wouldn't say the actual object was boring. I feel it set the mood pretty well, because when I read 'indestructible epidermis' and not 'indestructible human', I was actually kinda interested as to why the hell we had just the guy's skin. Got my answer… Yeesh.
+1
Nice follow-through on the implications of having an indestructible skin. I also like the mild creepiness of having a human skin lying around that still sheds skin flakes and is still at body temperature. Nice. +1.
Pretty much this, but I wish it was explored more.
Living the dream, or dreaming the life?
Credit to my associate Gargus for giving me the inspiration for this guy. You should give him a hundred dollars.

God, so many questions left unanswered. I love it.
