Being non-American and having never heard of Encyclopaedia Brown, I had no idea what to think of this. I've decided I can get behind it with a large sense of 'wat'.

Meh. Perhaps it's because I had no idea of the source material, but this didn't particularly interest me… and since when can't 682 look up?
Anyways, for a faint glimpse of time before I started reading I thought someone's done a crossover with Father Brown. *sigh*
Encyclopedia brown always had ridiculous solutions to the mysteries that no kid could reasonably be expected to figure out.

(I had an incredibly minor hand in this. Just the idea of "682 can't look up". That comes from an Encyclopedia Brown story wherein someone is lying about their world travels because "pigs can't look up".)
