First off, huge thank you to The Great Hippo for being a wonderful coauthor and making this so much better than I could have ever done by myself!

Second off, I want to dedicate this one to psul, who graciously allowed me to rewrite and use material from his original SCP-3001-EX. It was before its time and I hope we did it justice.

Thirdly, special thanks to everyone who looked this over and gave it the thumbs up or down.

Fourth - this one is for you, Jack Parsons. You were before your time too. Shine on, you crazy sex diamond.

I’ve always thought the ending of this article was missing a proper conclusion. Hopefully this is more thematically and viscerally unsettling.

That wikipedia link alone has moved this from a "started out promising but quickly turned to a lolfoundation tale of why the moon landings had to be faked" to "actually pretty fucking incredible" for me. All the stuff that seemed bananas? Actually true, or at least part of the lore which the three suspects pictured in the file were jointly involved in IRL. And yeah, the page is but a reformatting away from being an SCP.

Though with the whole hollowing-out-the-moon-and-leaving-geometric-shapes-behind schtick, I'm still slightly put out it didn't turn out that the far side of the moon is covered with an extensive array of Steven Universe style Gem-tech and architecture, maybe a massive interstellar transmitter or something, but just a Mighty Boosh style face. As horrific and hilarious the mental image of said face actually is.

This is the greatest line that anyone has ever used in anything.

This is a perfect riff on the weird and surreal history of the occult, both ludicrous and surprisingly informative at the same time, and all dripping with entertaining character.

I’m glad someone else had the idea to do the Moon landing. I had a somewhat different approach in mind, but this is probably more vibrant and interesting.

I have to know, though. I swear to god we've already got A) an "SCP is the Moon" article, B) an article where the interior of the moon is hollow and supported by a hexagonal lattice of something. I very specifically remember those details, and it's not often I specifically remember things. Is this a rewrite or something? I can't keep reading until I know for sure, it's driving me crazy. D:

Now that I can approach this on its own merits… I still feel like the Department of Abnormalities isn't a thing that really needs more than one article? Like, seriously, guys, c'mon? People complained about dado saturation, after all; and now I realize they basically all take the form of "building full of cells".

Also, holy shit, this is long.

You've got a really great hook with that redaction immediately following the first explanation of -2, though. Loving "The Pentagram".

Oh my god, this seance interview is utter bugnutty perfection. I love that the interviewer is just completely out of his depth. This guy was nuts! And… it sounds like he's not actually dead? It seemed at first like he might have died in the crash, but he went up as a ghost? (Yeah, that becomes clear by the end. What.)

It will be a Russian who takes the first step across the moon's surface. History will not care whether he was alive or dead.

This is the stuff dreams are made of. These letters are excellent.

Wow, that was fucked up. I can absolutely ignore my issues with the single instance of the DoA and upvote.
