Sometime last year, I came up with an idea I call "Reimagination Theatre". Basically, the idea is to take infamously bad SCPs of yore and write tales that take the core concept and present it in a new light. It was the inspiration behind my well-received tales about Ziggy the Extra Special Bush Baby, Jester, and Duke. I hold to the belief that the only difference between a good idea and a bad idea is the execution - and so I'd like to see more people doing Reimagination Theatre stuff and redeeming, or at least shining a different light on, things that have come and gone.
So, the challenge is this;
1) Take an SCP which has been deleted, decommed, or -ARCed. It can be one you personally observed come or go, something from SCP Classic that didn't survive the Mass Edit, or something from any of the sandbox collections or forum threads about bad SCPs, as long as it no longer exists on the site as a mainlister. The more memorably bad, the better.
2) Take the core concept of that SCP and reimagine it as something awesome.
3) Write a tale featuring your reimagined version of that SCP in the Foundation universe.
4) Make a post in your tale's comments thread identifying what it's based off of, and link to it if possible.
5) Be judged accordingly.
Proceed.
