I tried something different from a conventional tale with this one- a visual collage of real and fictional quotes and almost real events to underscore the incredible gulf between the pure ideologies of the Cold War and their human cost. Speeches quoted include LBJ's address on the Gulf of Tonkin incident, JFK's "Secret Society" speech and his address on the Cuban Missile Crisis, Truman's First Address to Congress, and Eisenhower's "military industrial complex" speech, as well as NSC 68.

Okay, clearly this is building to something, and that's good. But as a stand alone tale it is wholly meh. No vote.

I love how it begins to deviate just a little and then quickly spirals into a full fledged alternate timeline. Interested to see what else you do here.

Yeah, I'm sold. My only issue is that it reminds me of COLD HARPER a little much, or maybe Watchmen. But I'll be reading the rest of this intently.

The formatting is nice, and the writing is generally solid, but I didn't find myself really engrossed in this. Maybe it's just my inner historian silently nitpicking or something.

Ignoring the parts that are deliberate breaks from our timeline, are there any parts that are bugging your inner historian? Or maybe you find it unrealistic?

I find that when I read an alternate history piece, I compare the real course of events with the alternate one. If the real events seem overwhelmingly more plausible even in-universe (as is the case with the reasons you gave for the Sinai Crisis, which I found silly), or much more interesting (like the situation in Iran), I can't really enjoy it.
