It's not the first Extranormal Event in an SCP slot.
I’ll reiterate: I really think this should’ve gone in a tale slot instead of an SCP slot. But it’s extremely good anyways so I don’t care.

Bah, I went the path of least resistance and chose the SCP slot. Since this is Foundation documentation of an anomaly I figured it would be best suited in an SCP slot (and if the other Extranormal Event can be considered an SCP, this one with an even more formal documentation format should definitely be considered one).
The continuing adventures of Crar, this time with face punching!
I really, really don't like the Extranormal Event write-ups in SCP slots. I don't know what sticks in my craw about it so much really, but I guess if it's big enough to give a full write up it really ought to be written as an SCP.
That said, I like this enough compared to how much that annoys me that it cancels out to a no-vote. Good luck in the contest, y'all.
Hi AndrewOBT, thanks for reading my scip. I'll say I'm just a bit confused as to why you don't like the Extranormal Event aspect of this?
I will be completely honest: I believe that if something goes out of its way to break the format, it had better do so effectively. I won't toot my own horn here but I think this article is justified in its use of an Extranormal Event as an SCP because, in a way, it describes an anomaly that cannot possibly be contained, which removes the need for special containment procedures. And in-universe, this is being documented at the same time it's happening, so why even draft up containment procedures?
I will note that this still does loosely fall into the SCP format, just not in the same way other SCPs would (but in the same way your typical format screw would). The description is now Event Description, Special Containment Procedures are now Follow-up Actions Taken, and to justify the fact that there is nothing being explicitly contained here, Object Class is now Threat Level.
Despite you not liking it, I appreciate that you've taken the time to read it. Thank you!
Since I wrote that I have reflected a little on why I don't like EEs in SCP slots. Basically it boils down to a reaction to another article that I simply didn't like that was kind of good but rendered Eraserhead level incoherent by the format. In that light, I realize it's probably inappropriate to judge this good thing based on another bad thing (not even bad, I just didn't like it). I'm changing to an upvote accordingly.
The Extranormal Events in an SCP slot is fine, since you pull it off good enough to justify it. But the vast amounts of technical jargon buries the interesting parts so deep for me, and coupled with copious crosslinks, it makes me not really get into it much. That said, I think it's actually written very well enough otherwise that I'm holding off on a downvote, because the good bits are super fucking good.
I'm not sure if the Black Moon howls, but I do know the Blue Moon screeches
I was slightly torn on this, but this line sealed the deal.
