I'm not actually certain what's going on here. It starts off as Horizon (right?) having computer problems, someone attacking their servers to delete some holy texts, and then there's just… Like, Bible passages explaining where the Serpent's Hand get their name from? What's the connection?

Those are the fragments of the St. Manos texts they were able to recover for Father Keene that were attached to Mike’s email. Had the system been working, the entirety of those texts would have been retrieved. ‘Manos’ means Hand. These fragments are all that remain of his teachings.

The text fragments speak of the Serpent (Satan/Dragon/Wyrm/Worm) declaring that it and its offspring (the little serpents) would keep the Fruit of the Tree of Knowledge to themselves, and go forth and devour Knowledge wherever it was found, and to harry and contend with humans, who strive to one dayhave the knowledge and ability to return to paradise, and handle the full Splendor of the Word/total cosmic knowledge and understanding.

The files are fragmented, and the physical copies are ‘missing’. Score one for the Serpent.

I think the way this is structured and its pacing throws me off. I think it goes by super quickly without being able to glean much from it. I feel that I can understand the significance here, but the payoff at the end of the article feels super minimal.
