This was my attempt at a re-write of 343, but it was judged a bit too experimental, and so I'm posting it separately as a tale and abandoning my efforts of fixing the original.

I'd have disagreed with a rewrite of a well-rated article on principle, but either way , the way it's posted as a tale, this is brilliant. (what I'm really trying to say, I'd have liked this even as an mainlist SCP if not for the other issue)
Only thing perhaps , a Hungarian poor born in Prague of what seems early 20th century seems sliightly less likely than say, him being over in Pressburg (Czechs had lots of germans, we had lots of hungarians) , but it's still well within the realm of possibility.
(account deleted)This is great. Should the crows persistence and abilities be taken to mean that they're unified and possibly something other than human? Or is it just a lot of MI6/Nazi/CIA/CI/GOC goons?

That wouldn't make sense, because didn't the HMFSCP fold into the new Foundation? Unless there's a rogue element still carrying out this quite GOC-like mission.
It was good story anyway you look at it.
The HMFSCP is the originator of both the Foundation and the GOC, though I think the only statement to that effect was in some of the documents for mine and Dmatix's 001, and the fact that the crows in the other tale are seen using magic.
Wonderfully told. I like that you kept the identity of the ones chasing 343 ambiguous. It makes me think that maybe there's people that even the Foundation and its peers don't know about- a veil beneath the veil. Perhaps to those people, the Foundation is the equivalent of the UIU: a group of hopelessly misinformed and misguided children playing with fire.
I like to think that they're Magpies.
Mostly for the fact that so very few people actually know who that group is in-universe.
+1 fo' sho'. Always been on the fence with 343 but I like this version.
Just a quick edit needed; "deep into the bowls of that city." Presumably bowels.
Anyway, I think my headcanon will now be based more on this version than any other.
