I’m not entirely sure how this connects with Peppers’ thing. By mentioning the End-of-the-World K/O Failure Scenario, does that mean they can see the disappearance of the sharks coming? Is the SPC-001 procedure of giving the population that drug already underway? How would they know of the scenario if there are still sharks here? I’m just not sure I get it. Nice to finally have a solid description of the SPC properly punching sharks though.

End-of-the-World K/O Failure Scenario refers to any scenario in which the SPC fails, aka "the sharks win." Since Pepper's article is the first to coin the term the link exists to bridge the two.

Just as we have some 31 flavors of XK scenarios here we have at least two flavors of what an End-of-the-World K/O Failure Scenario looks like. Our team has decided to go for a more episodic approach to the contest, and there is nothing in the rules that state that all pieces need a single narrative connecting each entry.
