Have to say I loved that, especially the wtf-ary at the end that was brilliant to be able to revel in.
One thing I did wonder about was why iron-enriched water was used in containment? If the goal is to stop the spread of the light, then dyes would be more economical. Or is the effect slowed by the mass of the iron?

I feel like there are a lot of conflicting loose ends and "plot holes" here.
- SCP-1591 is increasing in intensity. Does this increase its effect as well (perhaps onset is more rapid the brighter the light gets?) or just make it more difficult to contain? In other words, is *any* exposure to the object sufficient to doom a person/thing?
- High intensity spotlights placed in 1m circular patterns… how big is the star itself? The photo suggests it's a good 3m across at least, so a "1m circular pattern" doesn't make sense in that context.
- How exactly do these containment procedures keep it "contained?" Do the spotlights counteract its light emissions, or just prevent it from increasing in intensity? How are the spotlights rotated if anything illuminated by the object solidifies and vanishes (including those only briefly exposed)?
- "Every 60 meters, photosensitive broadcasting units" - in a circle? In a sphere? In a straight line? What if the breach happens between (laterally) two units?
- It took the object about 4 days to destroy the initial box it was held in. Presumably the Foundation was testing it extensively when it was first recovered… how did they not notice that the box was getting messed up? How were the investigating individuals (presumably Class Ds) not "evaporated" by it?
1. Intensity increases the power of its effect.
2. I meter away from SCP-1591.
3. They keep the light emissions weak enough to prevent a breach, and are replaced by D-Class.
4. Going to address in the article, good point.
5. World War 2 was a bit of a distraction.
Whether you like it or not, history is on our side. We will bury you!
In regards to number 3, do the spotlights 'dilute' the effect of the SCP or something?

I don't see this as a problem when I read this article.
Isn't it implied that the object's effect grows and grows, so eventually the next sensor in the line would pick it up.
I think I must have glugged Confusion Juice instead of my lunchtime Cola today, because this is the second time I've been baffled in as many hours… I read the thing you linked to and I have no idea what it means. Then again, it took me years to realise Animal Farm was about communism and not just a talking pig.
Well ,considering that Animal Farm is a heavy duty strawman of stalinism, you aren't doing all that badly. XD
…
…Oh, yeah. I can't believe I'm writing a whole essay on Marxism and I got that wrong. Derp.
There's a long, proud tradition of writing essays about Marxism and getting things wrong.
I honestly don't see why they wouldn't destroy it, if they can't reliably halt its growth. And it feels too much like Disco Inferno.
