hmmm….interesting
I liked it up until halfway through the addenda. Making it an 'thing what kills you by spraying dead peoples faces' kind of ruins the fun for me. It would be much better if it was just a piece of industrial equipment that for some reason is communicating its manual by manipulating suicides.
Hesitant upvote, but I think you can make it better.
The idea of the suicide notes is very strong, and they're delightfully creepy to read, since it feels so wrong to have people's personal emotional messages hijacked by that thing. The cave system exploration was also well-handled; I was legitimately wondering what creepy thing awaited at the end, and your detailed description made it feel like we were actually inching through, building up for the revelation. Also, I like that this is set in South Korea; the SCP foundation is a global one, after all.
The human face though and ensuing chase though… Eh. I think just pumping the slurry with human parts out is frightening enough. It also seems unlikely that the D-Class would not be forthcoming with details; I imagine he would be yelling something along the lines of "Oh my God, Vinnie just got his face eaten off by a giant purple people eater!"
Still, this is way more entertaining than anything I can write. Upvote. :)
I still have my face :<…
But seriously, well done, author. +1
guuh
That was fucking creepy. The tension was palpable as I went through the Summary of Expedition 1538-1.
Upvoted, this is now one of my favorites.
if your reading this your gay
This is a nice and creepy, semi-surreal SCP. I feel that sometimes the suicide notes use a bit too much technical jargon in relation to that twin-screw extruder machine thing, but the ominous juxtaposition of the jargon with the expressions of personal anguish by the people more than makes up for any confusion I might have felt otherwise.
And that Expedition summary was amazing.
Very unique, indeed. A machine referenced in suicide notes that creates face monsters of the suicide victims? I like it. +1
I like the amount of detail you put into it. Very well thought out little touches that make for good reading.
It's pretty damn creepy, though I won't lie: The ending reminded me VERY much of the "Enigma of Amigara Fault."
