Hey! So wholesome SCPs are coming into vogue it seems. I figured it is high time to bring back my Nana Crosstest!! She is now a Thaumiel Class, folks (woo, first Thaumiel, yaaaay).
I do not have the time to add tags, but I would like to note here that this is to be a collaborative SCP. Please make sure you read prior to contributing, and try to follow the logic of produced items.
Neat SCP, elegant in its simplicity! I have a couple of ideas for cross tests, but I'm not sure how to go about contributing to a collaborative SCP. I've been an on-and-off reader of the site for a year or two, but I officially joined only the other day. Would I directly edit the SCP document itself, or submit it somewhere as a draft first?
I found the answer to my question on the forums: post a draft of any potential additions to a forum or this discussion page, then edit the main document to publish those additions. I'll start working on some drafts, then post them below for approval. My first idea is a ski mask that makes the wearer feel invisible (the opposite of SCP-3246-A-62), used to contain SCP-096.
What's that you say? A good wholesome SCP about a grandma making people clothes? And the clothes impart certain properties when worn? And the Foundation is using her to help contain other anomalies? Take my +1 good sir.

I like this! It actually reminds me of a draft I had in a sandbox from years and years ago… was originally called "sentimental seamstress". Originally it was focused on a lady making clothes that reflected things that she wanted though. The angle that this piece takes is much more compelling and I love the table content!

I didn't enjoy this, for a couple of reasons.
Firstly, I dislike Thaumiels becoming this mundane. They're supposed, in my mind at least, to be big things that facilitate the containment of dangerous anomalies — a Granny who knits wholesome clothes doesn't fill that niche in the slightest, and given that (I thought) they were supposed to be classified below high-level Researchers, it doesn't jive well with me. I know some people think differently, but that's how I feel. It's not enough to cancel an upvote, but it definitely contributed.
Secondly, there's not much story here, or even imagery. It is, at the heart, a reality bender that helps the Foundation, which is hardly a unique idea. The logs are cool, but I didn't come away feeling like I'd explored any aspect of the universe: it didn't have the mystery or charm of older articles, or the in-depth narrative/exploration of newer ones. The 173 test came close (it was creepy and clever), and so did the Researcher Kiryu test (it was extremely cute), but in the end they just kind of… cancelled each other out and left it feeling bland.
The writing is almost flawless though, and despite the problems I didn't actively dislike it, so no vote. Sorry.
I guess it does go a bit against the grain, not being some epic thing, but some variety is nice every now and again.
I'll grant you that there is not much going on here on the surface, but I feel like going further in-depth could very well end up being cloying - thus, a lot of the story is 'off-screened' or between the lines. I would hope the 173 test doesn't come off as creepy, it was moreso supposed to be silly.

I like this. In my headcanon, she's being used by a demiurge; that's why she has a heightened affect when she's allowed to knit. It's rewarding her for being its tool. It wants to help, and this is the best/only way it can.
The detail of the back half of the pantomime horse writing a thank you card with its foot was quite moving.
If you told me yesterday I'd smile at a 173 crosstest I'd have been incredible skeptical, but here I am. +1
Regarding with what was said above, I agree with Malice regarding the object class.
I don't believe that this should be classified as Thaumiel in the slightest. Going by that kind of logic, we might as well make SCPs classified as Safe like SCP-999 Thaumiel because of it's ability to safely neutralize the anomalous properties of more dangerous scips.
That being said however, this doesn't really bring the article down. I just find this SCP to be more classified as Safe than anything, and that isn't to say that Thaumiels can't be "mundane" in any sense of the word.

I think it's ok to classify it into Thaumiel, but i can't imagine just 1 test was enough to classify it into a Thaumiel, maybe to try expanding the experimentation log will help though.
Yeah but when 682 got 999'ed, he technically got a hell of a lot more powerful with that laughing wave ability he gained. I would classify 'em safe still.

After much deliberation, I've changed my mind. This is getting my downvote.
The problem I have with this, is that it blurs the line between being Safe and being Thaumiel, much like a Keter and an Apollyon1, but not in a good way.
The only reason why I hesitated and didn't give this a downvote was because the writing was good. That was a mistake.
My issue with this is it setting this precedent that, there are going to be scips that should be classified as Safe yet, they're classified as Thaumiel and renders the entire point of having a Safe class around, null.
From the Object Class page:
Thaumiel-class SCPs are anomalies that the Foundation uses to contain or counteract other SCPs or anomalous phenomena.
And as we can see here:
cross-testing between anomalous entities in containment has been authorized….SCP-3246-A will be tailored to the individual needs of intended anomalous entities.

I suppose it would be…if this wasn't something utilized by the Foundation, making it Thaumiel, which is distinct from Safe.
I don't really care about a downvote in the slightest, but it's helpful to understand what the Object Classes are and how they're actually used.
You may have a point there, but:
Even the mere existence of Thaumiel-class objects is classified at the highest levels of the Foundation and their locations, functions, and current status are known to few Foundation personnel outside of the O5 Council.
Another reason for me to not believe that this is Thaumiel, if it's known by most low-level research personnel that this is Thaumiel, than in my opinion, it should not be Thaumiel.
And from the article itself:
The introduction of SCP-3246-A to other anomalies must be approved by containment specialists for the anomaly in question, and requires authorization from at least 3-L5 personnel.
This implies that this knowledge of a Thaumiel class SCP isn't just limited to anyone with L5 clearance.
SCP-179 is a bit of a horrible example, since the article makes such a big deal about about the research team needing to be reshuffled due to the reclassification to Thaumiel. Also, you listed 3703 twice.
