Many thanks to all you patient peanuts who waited until I'd finished uploading to vote. Thanks also to Norixson, who upvoted before I'd finished for some reason?

Everything is uploaded now, and it should work correctly. All 68 pages.

Many thanks to Baseplate-Actual, taylor_itkin and Tanhony for their kind words and critique. Special thanks to MayD who taught me how to use the ListPages module that this relies on.
A massive thank you to Hannah_AI for translating this page for the Chinese site.

More stuff by me

📝 I'm open to a rewrite collab - hit me up if you've got a killer idea.

I very much enjoyed this one and this is probably my favorite one so far can you make more like this?

I think I'd prefer to see what you can come up with!

Is that an invitation to use this format?

Finally I finished translating this article…It took me almost 12 hours to translate and post it on our wiki.

The article is amazing, and it brings a brand new type of writing mode to the Foundation.

However, I think I have to say: Poor Carlos！！What a pity！！！！Why you treat him in this way！！！

The amount of work and dedication you've put into that is commendable. Thank you very much! I hope it wasn't a complete chore for you :P

Masterpiece. +1

This is a novel format screw. It's a tiny bit like SCP-910, but this does enough to set it apart.

+1

Daaaang, I actually wasn't expecting to read all the way to the end (since I'm not a huge fan of long articles, and I don't like committing myself to a read if I don't have an idea of how long it'll take) but this was quite the interesting plot development.

+1 from me!

Toa_Vine 15 Mar 2018 03:58

I've seen a few choose-your-own-adventure stories on here before, but the formatting for this one is fantastic. It must have been a pain to get working.

Toa_Vine 15 Mar 2018 03:58

Damn it Wikidot.

Absolutely stellar. I can't imagine how much work went into this, but it certainly paid off. +1

That said, I noticed some typos here and there, but I have no idea how to go about fixing them.

One ongoing issue, though.

When you end a piece of dialogue with a period, the following word should be capitalized. If the following words form a dependent clause, the dialogue should end with a comma.

So, this is correct:

"Yes, sir, of course." The speed at which she speaks — as well as the fact that she's stood at your door in the first place — reveals her lie.

But here…

"Sally." you reply. "Is everything okay?"

The period after "Sally" should be a comma. Even if the dialogue ends at "Sally", "you reply" is technically part of the same sentence. The corrected form would thus read:

"Sally," you reply. "Is everything okay?"

Croquembouche 15 Mar 2018 04:36

EDIT: Totally misread everything. Check the revisions to see my misinterpretation.

Replacing fullstops with commas does make sense. I'll correct all those mistakes when I have time, but it'll be a lot, so they can stay for now!

I love this. +1

Only problem is that now I want an actual SCP choose your own adventure game that isn't just a containment procedure in and of itself.

(account deleted) 15 Mar 2018 11:02

Man, that was good! I think the format screw works wonderfully, as both a containment procedure and as a plot device. And although I was confused at first, I’m really glad I finished it. I’ll definitely be exploring more of the choices it offers.

As for the premature upvote, it was mainly a vote of confidence given, to me at least, if it takes 30-60 minutes to upload all of its parts, you’re surely in for a good time!
