I'm still not feeling The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Universe reference anymore than the last time I saw it. I am however feeling footnote 2 and that killer last line.
It's refreshing to see the Foundation invent an entirely bullshit term to describe a category of anomalous stuff, and then admit, 'yeah, it doesn't mean dick to me either, sue me'.
Real science is full of categories like that, so it has a lot of verisimilitude.
This is gloriously weird, and the stinger couldn't be more perfect. +1
Also, jeez, at this rate we're going to need a tag GOI entry for freaking KFC.
Read this expecting it to be some sort of GAW scip. Still, freaking weird and pretty enjoyable.
If an SEP index of 0.5 or higher means that something is hardly perceptible, wouldn't an index of 0.1 mean very high visibility?
I think the implication is meant to be that even at 0.5 people generally won't notice a thing, so 0.1 basically means it's super super low-key.
In that case, objects with an SEP index higher than 0.5 would be perceptible.
objects with an SEP index of 0.5 or higher are almost never consciously noticed
This, however, describes all values over 0.5, including 500 khgjillion.
That was an error, and I fixed it.
Thanks to everyone who's pointing out or fixing typos, I was on ambien for about half of writing this, so I'm sure I missed stuff.

I get that this is referencing that dated "🅱oneless pizza" meme from a year ago, but what exactly am I reading? I got confused as soon as I hit the first few sentences of the article's description.
If you go in there you are able to use the word "boneless" in a way that makes sense to you that is totally unrelated to the presence or absence of bones. This usage is strangely consistent, but not predictable. When you leave it no longer makes sense to you. This was tested in several ways, but none of the tests really helped. Something is happening here more than just a weird meme thing because despite this being a KFC there were no bones in the trash. The Foundation doesn't really know why any of this is.
Thanks, I think I have an idea of what it is now.
Oh boy, memes.
I almost get the feeling this was written by someone who went into a KFC, asked for boneless wings, and got regular wings, and is just being salty.
Oh boy, memes.
Apparently not:
Standard anti-cognitohazard precautions do not affect SCP-3181's anomalous property, indicating that this is not a perception-altering anomaly, but instead some other phenomenon.
No, I mean that this is the skippification of an internet meme (see the comment above mine). Hence, downvote.
It's definitely inspired by the meme, but I did my best to make it stand on its own two legs nonetheless. It'll only get less meme-y as Boneless Pizza fades from the public consciousness.
