The initial inspiration for this SCP was the authentically-chickenlike behavior of Baba Yaga's House in Summer in Orcus, by Ursula Vernon.
You can do a lot more tests on anomalous organisms if you can produce them pretty much at will.

I'm fairly certain you don't need footnotes to clarify what a rooster and a hen are. The little house chickens aren't really interesting enough for an up vote, but the article is well written enough to avoid a down vote. No vote for now.

The major question I have is why have a Matryoshka doll as a catalyst? I was expecting nested-eggs but at the end of it,

I for one really liked this. Yes, it is straightforward. Yes, this is practically everything I expected it to be right out the gate and not many punches were pulled. However, yes, what I expected was really good. This is not my strongest upvote, but these things are damn cute, and I want one, and that makes me upvote.
VERY tiny nitpick: I do not believe that footnote 5 is required as it is identical to footnote 4. Just reference footnote 4 again in place of 5.
Otherwise weird idea. Grow you own house - what's not to like?
This is a very fun article. I started really liking it when you mentioned the many types of buildings the chickens can manifest as. The absurdity of a stadium chicken/Cathedral chicken is absolutely delightful.
