Hy-Brasil

This is part of the upcoming and rebooted Kaiju Canon "War on All Fronts", which has undergone some large revisions. The island of Hy-Brasil is the new location of the attack, rather than Three Portlands.

Thanks to my critters: DrChandra, MrWrong, CaptainKirby, Bunton, ihp, KfruntRfrunt, and legendaryweredragon.

Better than its draft versions, that be acknowledged.

But I don't think the label of Nexus is optimal here. My idea of Nexus is that they are places where specific supernatural activity is concentrated there and can only exist there. This place is simply just a Switzerland (in the sense of a neutral site) for GoIs, and it shows that there is a lack of focus in the inherent supernatural-ness of the place (beyond the resident Tuatha Dé Danann, which is still not enough).

I personally have felt that the line between a Nexus and an SCP can be blurred, especially with the definition of them being places where the anomalous can only exist. The lack of a focus on the inherent supernatural-ness of Hy-Brasil is my attempt to make it more reasonably "not an SCP", with the explanation being that the actual anomaly here (the seven year thing) is not enough for a full SCP designation, only an Unexplained Location.

This is slightly different from the Nexus description on the main page, and I understand if you don't like that because of this, but I felt that slightly tweaking the parameters of a Nexus and going forward with this worked.

Although at one point I was expecting Hellboy and the Golden Army to turn up. :-)

I presume the SCP-3388-C-4 /SCP338-A3 discontinuity will be fixed in the planned rewrites.

Simple, but pretty effective worldbuilding piece. I like the mix of myth with this realistic depiction of a city razed by destruction. Kaiju or not, there's definitely this melancholic tinge to how things end that make this work past the mere lore building, which already is great by itself.
