New SCP up. All comments feedback etc. welcome.
Kalinin , Kalinin, why do you do this.
First, you somewhat creep me out with the first picture, enough that I thought it was some noob that's trying to pass with it by.
Then, i read, and my little feline heart gets all happy and want to upvote it hard.
Then come the documents, and well.. the first one is stupid for several reasons, while the last is a nice addition, but not much punch after what's been said already, at least in my opinion.
As for the memo, it's far too general to be of any interest - that this is challenging, everyone has figured, and there aren't too many things that couldn't be stated by one sentence in the containment procedures (such as recommended cover story)
Then, you get this.
The recent development of amnestic drugs for use in information control has provided the Foundation with a very useful tool. However, due to questions about lingering aftereffects on brain chemistry and the potential impact on governmental figures, the use of these drugs in containing information about SCP-1377 is prohibited without my express consent.
Which is both unbelievable (we consider worse things than that acceptable) and hell.. his express content? I'd get that if he was an O5, but then he wouldn't be reviewing it either because O5 are busy - they'd likely set up a committee.
I can't upvote it with clear conscience as it is, but fuck, do I love the description and the footage.
This article is like watching porn, and just as the chick undresses and starts playing with her boobs, the video switches to two frogs mating.
Noted. If I get more comments in this vein I'll consider removing the supplements. I'm not really married to them. I was originally worried that the containment was a little thin up top, but I didn't want to weigh down the front part of the article before we get to what the skip actually is. But it seems that may have been a misguided concern. We'll see.
The pictures? Squicked me out.
The idea? Gefällt mir.
The last two addendums. Meh. And in an article that can be this good, meh is not enough.
If those got taken out, I'd upvote faster than…erm…something that goes really, really fast.
All right, that's two established members with the same concern. I'm going to try it without the addendums and see how it stands.
Upboated faster than something that goes really fast!
Also, full disclosure, I'm not that established a member.
He's an anti-estabilishment member. He wants to bring the wiki down on our backsides.
Both of you have image macros for your user pictures, ergo you are both antidisestablishmentarians but you're trying to convince the rest of us that one of you isn't… I have figured out your dastardly schemes.
Not for long, you pro antinondisenstablishementarianist!
I sprained an eye reading that. Hope you're happy.
The idea really caused me to ruminate. Where do these things come from? Why are their attempts so slap-dash?
I gave it an upvote and hope you'll elaborate on it.
Really stellar idea.
Maybe it's just me but the pictures don't creep me out in the slightest, uncanny valley has never been a very disturbing thing to me and a latex skin strapped over a robot face just doesn't do it.
The concept here again doesn't creep me out or interest me, mysterious robot politician terminators.
Nothing here creeped me out and nothing but the origin behind the robots is interesting to me.
This sent a chill up my spine, the pictures work well with it.
I'll have the author know that I grew up in the great state of Kenswick, and me and everyone else here in New Antwerp don't appreciate being told we don't exist.
People would be more open to letting your state in the Union if you quit trying to elect the clown doll from Poltergeist to Congress. Jeez.
I was once on a flight that got diverted to New Antwerp, and how I got out of there is a tale in itself…

Yes. Do it.

I should, but am not sure I have a good enough image in my head of what the society that makes SCP-1377 is really like.
I had this idea that they catch people to turn into SCP-1377-X by running cheap charter flights and then diverting them into their world for a while. A few real passengers disappear, and a few 1377s with fake ID get on in their place.

+1 The pictures make it creepy.
Question, though: does the assembly understand the SCPs or no?
I upvoted because I find it bizarre and humorous. I mean, here are these bizarre biological entities which comes straight from the Uncanny Valley who address legislative bodies, and what do they do? Do they release a memetic agent meant to subvert the government? Do they make demands that we all submit to our new puppety overlords? No, they do things like speak gibberish and imitate animal calls. The fact that they're consistently incompetent at forging credentials just makes it better.
The thing I love about this that I think people are missing is that they're getting better at it. Eventually, they'll figure it out, and we won't be able to tell the difference…
