Here it is! Yet another skip!

I'd like to thank the many many many people who read various versions of this: DarkStuff, TheGreatSea, Weryllium, psul, DrMagnus, stormbreath, DrChandra, taylor_itkin, Tanhony, GibberingEloquence and probably many others who I have forgotten (pm me and I'll add you).

I really liked the narrative behind this scip. I enjoyed reading all of the logs, as they were all interesting.

For some reason, my favorite part of all of this was probably Dr. Wey himself. I think it was because he and SCP-3511 were genuine characters, not just another faceless individual of the Foundation like you usually see in transcripts.

They both had their own little story develop over time with the logs, and Dr. Wey even made a relationship with SCP-2511.

It was sad, but the very ending made me happy. Now I want to give her a hug. :p

I thought I recognised this when reading. Man this has changed a lot.

I have to say, not a fan of the ending, I get she's turned 18 but it just seems a bit of anti climax. I still enjoyed it though so +1.

I get how you'd see the ending like that. I was going for a subversion of expectations. That way the reversal would provide a breath of fresh air as well as a different kind of climax. Either way, I'm happy you liked the rest of it!

I'll admit you almost lost me in the beginning with such a tiny anomaly, but I'm glad I stuck around. I like the happy ending, and I really like the implication that the parents are the true anomaly here. Might we assume a Fifthist connection with the 'Starfish' nickname?

So… I'll be honest when I first wrote those interviews I totally forgot fifthism was a thing. But when I showed it to people later, they said it made sense, and so I kept it.

Or the short answer: yes.

My only real complaint is that she talks like she’s British despite supposedly being an American. Same for the guy. American teenagers don’t say mental or picnic in those contexts.

Other than that, it was entertaining and heartfelt. It’s always nice to see the Foundation’s human side.

At the mention of "starfish", I started wondering if this wasn't Fifthist, but nothing seemed to come of that. No investigation into her parents, after the revelation that they likely made her anomalous?

Thanks! I always like happy endings and, maybe its just me, but they feel kind of rare on this site.

As for the parents, The Foundation is looking for them, but I didn't want to focus on it too much, because it'd take some focus away from Erica.

Exceptionally well written and emotionally resonant.

I was TERRIFIED when I saw the last log say she was "neutralized". not sure if that was intentionally vague wording, but damn did that throw me on an emotional rollercoaster.

This is about as close to a happy ending as I've seen here in a while. I'm hoping the Foundation finds the parents before they find her.

What did they do to their little starfish? WHY did they do it? We may never know.

I'm pretty neutral on the skip itself, and I must say that the old version of this skip was much better, in my opinion. I have no quarrels with this version, through, so novote.
