Fantastic! This thing had so many twists and turns.
At first I felt the images were really hokey but they gradually started to cause more and more tension and anxiety. I didn't like where the article was going until I completed the first half and it struck me that I had read what was more or less a tale to give context.
The secondary article leads up to a conclusion I genuinely DID NOT see coming. At all. I was completely blind-sided.
Equal parts tense and amusing. This is really, really good imo.
This is a brilliant, brilliant take on the chain letter. That twist at the end… very nice.
I read this, and I wanted to hate it so much. But instead I let myself get drawn in (ha ha ha), and by the end of it my heart was pounding. I would have upvoted at that point, to be honest, just for the effect it gave me, but then you come down with the final note and bam. I like articles that set up a narrative just to pull it out from underneath you, and this is one of the best examples of that I've seen. Well friggin' done.
You know… I thought something was fishy for a second at the top, but then I got so swept up in the article I stopped thinking about those possibilities. When I reached the end the first thing I thought was "oh good… wait I KNEW IT".
+1. Preferably more if I could though.
I was hesitant about this at first, but after letting myself roll with the experience it was a really fun read. The note at the end was also a clever subversion of what I expected would happen (not sure what I expected actually, but it wasn't that).
+1
I don't know if this is intentional, but I absolutely enjoy all the blank space after the article is done. It's a great way of simulating the experience of just sitting there, shocked at the outcome, taking it all in. Hell, I actually did do that IRL. So, well done.
It's been a while since an SCP article both surprised me and me go "GODDAMMIT OP YOU SON OF A BITCH" at its surprise. I was nodding along, ready to give a lukewarm upvote at a well-done but tired "meta eldritch" premise…
…and then you got me. You fucking got me. Enthusiastic +1
