I still like this, but why is it being reposted?
Whether you like it or not, history is on our side. We will bury you!

i tried to revise it, altering formatting, length and other issues
In fact, please don't delete it in the future just to make changes. Firstly it's dishonest with regards to voting, and secondly it's hiding the previous revisions from people who want to see them.
Edit: Disclaimer, I am not an admin nor do I have authority over site rules. It's just good wiki etiquette.
i see what you mean….im new and someone advised me when it was getting down voted that I could always pull it, change it and resubmit, but I take it we're -not- supposed to do that?
At first posting I didn't like it. The more I read it though, the more I think there should be one, and exactly one of these in the Foundation's custody. I think in a lot of people's headcanon, the Foundation has had to as one tale put it "reboot reality" at one point or another, and this SCP does a good job of being that one object that allows the Foundation to do so. +1
Edit: Interviews aren't needed imo. It's a fine stand alone article.
thanks. i included interviews to demonstrate the change in tone/attitude of the subject over several experiments…
The tale in question being the excellent ClusterfREDACTED.
I was actually thinking Annon where Light's alternate self says
"It's a long story, but let's just say, if you ever need to reboot the universe, make sure you're inside of it first."
This SCP fits into that perfectly.
This (thing what changes the universe for everyone except you) has been done before. See Ohio clinic.
Most every idea has been used in some flavor before.
I'm not getting your "Ohio clinic" reference. Link or explanation please?
I believe he's referencing the paediatric clinic in which all known references to the occupants are erased/deleted. The effect is somewhat similar as anyone in the room isn't influenced by the warp (which lead to Foundation staff assuming the victims are from alternate realities.)
If you're going to do your own tagging, please make sure they're at least spelled correctly. I've fixed them for you this time.
Delightfully spooky. So this thing is a horizontal portal across time? That's what I'm getting from it.
yeah. I was going to include something in an interview, like "it moves us perpendicular to space-time" but I thought it would be silly to spell it out…
thanks
My conceptual problems with this piece still stand. The long version of my complaints was lost when the prior version was deleted, but in brief:
The writing is solid, the concept bugs the hell out of me. Downvote.
That swirly-whirly spiral thing made my computer have a tantrum and freeze; I had to go straight here through the 'Page Discussions' link to post here…
god, i don't know what to say about that. sorry.
Some small notes:
In Description:
When moderate force is applied to it, it will being to deform in unpredictable ways,
- You mean to say begin.
At this point, the subject will have had their memories altered.
- This is a weird future passive voice. Suggest using "At this point, the subject's memories have been altered." Stylistic, up to you.
Other than that, I enjoyed this one quite a bit. Might be my own bias toward retrocausality.
thanks very much. also, for spotting the typo.
retrocausality…its not just for breakfast anymore
