I have to be honest, I didn't read this entire thing after my eyes started going blurry after the second paragraph. There's way too much runaround before you even start to explain what this thing does, and that's a big turn-off for me.
I liked it. Well thought out, well explained, and an interesting little thing.

This item is really interesting, original, well explained, bizarre and definitely i don't want to make contact with that or anything similar to this…

Edit: if you find a picture, this scp will be pure gold.

I thought about using that pic, but it doesn't quite match the description.
I could tweak the article so that it does match, but I really like some of the details that would get lost. The short-neck on the fetus, for example.
Think this would be better, considering it's supposed to from the thirteenth month of gestation:

It's certainly a contender, but I'm really married to the short neck at this point. It's kind of integral to my concept of the item.
I would really like a picture, because fetal giraffes are just really eerie looking if nothing else, but I think it would have to be something shopped, and shopped well. Since my photoshop skills are poor at best, I'm thinking this will just have to do without a picture.
What about using the horse embryo picture from FaustoV's link and calling it a giraffe? They look very similar except for the length of the neck.
Don't think this needs a visual aid, really. I think the reader would want to focus more on visualizing the effect than a creepy image of a a giraffe in a jar.
I have to agree with Mackenzie regarding the description- we get a lot of detail about the fetus and jar that has absolutely no bearing on the anomalous portion (ie, the fluid). Are the jar and fluid anomalous at all?
Also, isn't formaldehyde (spelling, sorry, phone) a liquid? I thought sublimation specifically described the shift from solid to gas.
All of that being said, the effect is novel and interesting. Upvote, with the hope that the execution will get a little more polish.
Formaldehyde proper is in fact a gas; what most people are accustomed to calling "formaldehyde" is a solution of formaldehyde in water. Sublimation is not the correct word for what is being described in the write-up.
Ergh…this is creepy
And I like how you only kept the kinesthetic senses, which makes much more sense than "they know everything the parent knows". Since all it really is is muscle memory of a specific series of movements, it makes sense that it would be passed via this. However, I am not sure why the progeny would have to listen to "Moonlight Sonata" first.
I think I know what this is. I had a strange inkling as I read it, but re-reading what was preserved (the stunted-neck Giraffe) clinched it in my head.
This is an SCP that induces Lamarckian Evolution, isn't it? (That is to say, it 'makes' the Lamarckian theory 'correct'.)
… Oh god what happens if two people are exposed in equal ammounts and have a child?
Oh my god, this IS Lamarkian evolution!
You, sir, are a genius.
Thank you, although I'm not sure if I'd agree.
I thought I telegraphed the point pretty hard with the title.
I hadn't though about double-exposures. Hmmm, could make for interesting (albeit messy) testing.
i would like to know what happen if 2 infected people make a new baby.
P.S: To be honest, i think such a test is unnecesary, and i don't want to see this marvelous thing with a bad [DATA EXPUNGED], because it dooesn't need.
I've let it stew for a few days, and I just can't think of anything interesting to do with double exposure.
If anyone has any suggestions, feel free to drop me a line. But as it is, I'm going to just leave it alone.
One thing: you describe gonads and ovaries seperately, but to the best of jy knowledge, ovaries are gonads. Did you mean "testes"?
Oh, another thing:
If inhaled or allowed to remain in prolonged contact, SCP-1169-1 will quickly be absorbed into the circulatory system of all plants and animals
The phrasing here is a bit odd considering that plants and a few species of animal don't have circulatory systems (I believe. I don't think that stems allow circulatory passage).
I did mean testes, fixed it. thank you.
If I recall Bio 101 correctly (and that is a slim chance at best), all living things have an equivalent of a circulatory system. In that there is a method for moving water and nutrients into tissues that need it and moving waste products to where they can be eliminated. In plants, the equivalent would be the capalaries running from the roots throughout the plant. Even in single-celled amobea, there are mechanisms to push nutrients to the organelles that need them and push waste by-products out through the membrane.
