Alright, so these last few days I have been thinking of some ways to challenge you guys. I posted a few of my challenges in chat, but since most of you are not in chat it didn't really have any sort of wide-ranging effect. I thought it might be fun to post some of my more thought-provoking challenges here. These aren't just designed to test your creative skill as a writer (Although some of them will do just that). These challenges are also designed to help you become a better member of the foundation, whether you are here to critique, write, or be an editor. And with that, I will begin.
Challenge #1: On every SCP or tale you vote on, go into the comments and write about how you feel about the SCP as a whole. Even if the SCP is at a Jester or Subtle Killer Morgan Freeman level, don't just go "THIS IS BAD AND YOU SHOULD FEEL BAD." I feel like behaviors such as this are one of the main things holding us back from progress as a community. Instead of leaving comments that serve to show how clever and snooty you are, or how much you love reposting timecube, show us that you really understand why the SCP is good/bad.
HARDMODE: Do it for six months.
Challenge #2: Write up a tale featuring one or two SCP articles that you absolutely despise, and portray them in a mostly positive light. Try to show why the SCP isn't that bad, even if you think it is simply atrocious. Try to look past the reasons you hate this SCP and see its good side. Maybe the only reason you don't like the SCP is because you had an old prejudice against it, and a reread might provide you with a newer, more fresh opinion.
HARDMODE: Use two or three SCP's you don't like in a tale, or kill of an article you do like.
Those are all I have for now! If you guys bite and this sticks around, I might post some more challenges in the future.
Whether you like it or not, history is on our side. We will bury you!
