This is after a self-delete of old article, with a full rewrite and a better hook. Thanks to that_tall_fellow for help with the idea.

• The "Oscar" image is a modified image from a Public Domain pack of pre-1900s mugshots courtesy of Ampersand Galleries, and is considered public domain (a) under the pre-1924 rule and (b) as released into the Public Domain by Oregon State Police's public records guidelines

Seriously, though - this is better than the standard insect-body-horror SCP, in that it has an original effect rather than being a 439 ripoff. Still, it's just another "bugs that only feed on humans and transform them into something weird" article of the type we've had like a dozen of, so I'm downvoting.

I like this but it would be better if it also changed animals and stuff into the same guy.

It would be really good if you had hints of what happens when somtehing smaller than a human is 'infected', like a rabbit becoming a head or something of that nature (can you imagine walking into a forest and seeing a bunch of half-formed people screaming as they wiggle on the ground?

That's an interesting idea, but I feel like the charm of this one is that anyone bitten ends up an exact duplicate of Mr. Peleschak.

Upvoted because 1.) this is really good and 2.) I just killed a mosquito on my computer screen while I was reading this and I'm not sure if it bit me. Also, I live in Massachusetts.

Not really, but it seemed like something that would be included. Remember that Level 2's have a list of the SCP's they are allowed to interact with after them in their clearance level (i.e., level 2\xxx-yyy-zzz). However, I never see reference to level 2 foundation members, so I did what I thought would make sense for a file such as this.

I selected two articles that I thought a single researcher might work on. they are all insect-related.

Retracting my downvote on the basis of it no longer only feeding on humans. Insects that only target humans are one of my major pet peeves, since I can't imagine any insect evolving that way.

Two new nitpicks, though:

1) There's no such thing as a "Level A hazardous materials suit". Biohazard safety levels, in order from no containment to "negative-pressurized rooms and full-body suits with external oxygen supply" containment, are Level 0, Level 2, Level 3, and Level 4. You probably meant Level 4.

2) If this thing affects mammals like cats and mice now, and it still only takes 24 hours, you should probably mention something about how a housecat gains 60 kg or so in 24 hours, while comatose, without violating the laws of thermodynamics.

To solve this, mention that critters without sufficient mass will become incomplete copies of Mr. Peleschak, maybe even mention that the critters don't survive the partial transformation.

I like this concept. But I think this needs a bit more narrative in order to be truly creepy.

Who is Oscar—why would he / anybody want clones of him? Or is this supposed to be natural? Guessing at that question doesn't creep me out.
