AU: James Talloran comes home from SCP-3999 in one piece. The amnestic procedure to get the trauma removed is invasive and powerful- they're erasing three months of time, after all. The side effects are uncomfortable to say the least. Draven Kondraki attends.

Okay this literally was like, an actual, real fanfic I had posted on my AO3 and people came up to me asking me to consider publishing it on site, so I fixed it up a little more and did. I just like, if Sunny can post her gay fanfic then I can too damn it no one can stop me

The 'scars on the sides of James' face' thing comes from Perelka's headcanon, demonstrated in full gore here and here.

Draven Kondraki belongs to V1als on Tumblr.

If nothing else, this describes my headcanons as for the kind of affects high-powered amnestics can have on a person.

This is a fantastic tale, blending a surprisingly unique take on amnestic side effects with your consistently realistic dialogue and vivid characterization. Talloran and Kondraki's relationship is a joy to read, even as - and possibly because - they're faced with crisis after crisis.

This is amazing and I'm glad that you posted it here :D

I love the last sentence, I love how James reacted to Draven's caring actions, and I love how Draven had helped Talloran through more than what is shown here. I love all of it. Thank you for writing this. I'm also glad that they are going to be okay after all.

and yeah that tale of mine is defintely balant fanfic alright XD

Time for a Draven tag, right?

It's a good point and I def think he should get one. How does that process work, exactly?

My empathy receptors almost got burned reading this. Awesome characterization. And please, just let Talloran alone. +1

Damn, this is just really good. Hopefully people aren't regularly squirreling away good fic on AO3 just because it's fic. Or gay. :)

Definitely enjoyed this, nice read, good dramatic feel to it.

James swallows and nods and Draven is rubbing his back now, talking softer, being gentle but James is not to be handled gently right now Draven this is serious Draven I can’t read I can’t read this, please, Draven-

I do feel that some of the parts like the above shift a bit oddly for me, jumping to what I feel are the personal thoughts of the character, but still an upvote for this!

You know, on one hand this is a sad story, but I find it uplifting in a way because they were able to get the amnestics to work.

I have translated this Tale into Japanese and submitted it to SCP-JP. http://ja.scp-wiki.net/the-trouble-with-amnestics
