Fun fact, there's not really any expunged data in the regular document, that's just there to screw with the containment staff and keep them from guessing what is going on.
This also really needs a picture, but I could not find a good one of the appropriate kind of guy hugging a creepy, ratty teddy bear.
Was this inspired by the discussion page for 579, where someone suggested that maybe the reason why that SCP was so heavily redacted was because more people knowing about it made it more dangerous?
No upper limit to the size of hostility of SCP-1055 has been established during containment breaches and exposure to civilians and unscreened personnel.

It sounded like caveman containment. "Ook ook. Bear man angry." "How angry bear man?" "Bear man big angry." "Send D-class man in, hug bear man."
This was a great read. The misdirect is surprising, and it nicely filled in the reasoning behind "giving the humanoid SCP whatever it wants".

Love this. It's great seeing the O5s in a bind over such tenuous containment procedures.
I'm hard pressed to come up with a decomm procedure that wouldn't carry enormous potential for a breach.
Get personnel unaware of 1055 to set off a nuke under Site 77, "strictly for testing purposes"?
Leave a trail of Reese's Pieces from Mikey's chamber that just happens to lead into the open hatch of a sun-bound rocket?
In either case, somebody aware of the situation would almost certainly have to make arrangements at some point.

I just wrote a humanoid Caucasian male SCP that needs to be given everything he wants and cheekily threw in a "double-blind recovery team" reference and put it up in a cursed slot… I was reaaaal close to also suggesting that it gets launched into the sun but that just felt a little too cocky.
When in the boy scouts, I once got to camp out in a military base and get a tour of a decommissioned nuclear bunker, where the launch codes would be keyed in. According to the guide, if the people on site ever got the orders to launch, they would be given encrypted coordinates to input, and would have no idea where the missiles would be heading.
Of course, if we tried to use a similar system to destroy 1055, it would probably go Fubar somewhere along the line. Someone as to create the encrypted coordinates, after all.
Would somebody care to fill someone who's not in the loop in on this purported "curse"?

The 1055 slot just had a lot of unsuccessful entries. Things were getting deleted out of it so fast and so often that it seemed the number was unlucky.
Didn't we have a similar problem with 055, leading to the forgetfulness thing?

Many times, folks refer to an SCP as just the number (especially 682, 173, 343) so if you see a number just floating about all lonely like a proper name, that's the most likely case.
