SCP-1845, Mummified Children, lost after they sunk aboard the Titanic at -22.
SCP-1046, Crippled Statue… I can't think of any tasteful quips here, so it was deleted at -22 as well.
Alright, alright. SCP-1550 is gone. I'll stick to reading SCPs from now on, as apparently I wrote the one of the worst ones out of all the thousands written.
Oh honey, no it wasn't. We've had SCPs hit -50 and worse in a matter of hours. Keep in mind that the godawful ones don't stick around, so if you haven't been reading the site for very long, you haven't had a chance to see the TRULY, AWE-INSPIRINGLY bad ones. And in any case, just about everyone who posts articles has had at least one bomb and get deleted. Don't take it personally.
Giving bearhugs to the unsuspecting since 1872.
Don't be so hard on yourself. Just about everyone's first SCP is going to be bad. My first two SCPs were both terrible, and even though I haven't posted anything new, I'm still here. Trust me, you can always improve. I would recommend setting up a sandbox page, putting some ideas there, and getting feedback on them there, refining them that way. It's also helpful to keep a thick skin around here, people are often blunt with their feedback. Even though the comments are often harsh, they're trying to help you reach full potential.
There was an interesting discussion on feedback in general earlier today in IRC. One of the ideas brought up was that any kind of specificity, even just "bad idea" or "bad writing" is more helpful than "meh" or "it's bad". The latter is really a punch to the gut because it points out the author's mediocrity in a way that doesn't acknowledge potential for improvement. This is essentially akin to saying "you're bad at something and I took the time to explicitly point this out to you, but I can't be bothered to tell you what it is you're bad at."
One of the comments I got here was a fairly long rant, which I greatly appreciated. Obviously not everyone can or should take the time to write a long-form review, but they are the most helpful kinds of comments in my opinion. Personally, I would much rather be excoriated than shooed off.
I got a "Meh" on mine. That hurt more than the -15 in less than 24 hours.
Seriously, if you're going to post "Meh", just downvote the sucker and don't bother writing a comment. "Meh" is not constructive criticism.
However, 'Meh' is a valid and storied criticism for this particular site.

There used to be a neat explanation of 'Meh' by yoric in the old FAQ. Perhaps it'd be a good idea to slap it back there.
Dammit, i deleted the old faq completely. Anyone have that explanation saved anywhere?

What, 'cause it got deleted?
Keep a thick skin. SCPs get deleted. Not every idea is a winner.

SCP-1055, Self-Perpetuating Amphora, repurposed as a planter at -19 and four votes.
SCP-1105, Shadow Man, locked out to get some sun at -16 and four votes.
SCP-1657, "Vanishing" Mists, dispersed by a frickin' huge fan at -40 and four votes, along with a couple of logs.
SCP-1300 suffered severe indigestion from all the cancers it's eaten and melted into a pile of goo (self-deletion for re-writing).
Edit: oh man, we're supposed to make the deletion notice a snarky comment? /me is all over that shit like a fly
SCP-1659 has returned to the ground. It was a bit like strangling an ugly baby; the worst part was having to lay your hands on the horrible thing again.
Its not dead, you didn't delete it right, you have to select delete completely. Right now all you did was blank the page and change the url.
I'm self-deleting SCP-1055, the Think Tank for the time being. I figured out the problem with it, and it's one that's plagued me in the past. Sometimes, I start writing with a cool concept in my mind, but my writing winds up fixating on parts of the idea that aren't the cool bit, and people start thinking that some auxiliary concept is the main thrust because, well, that's how it comes across.
Expect it back up soon, and it should be a hell of a lot better.
Also, I'd like to apologize to everyone I got pissy at for downvoting. I hadn't realized yet that the SCP concept in my head was not the one that I wrote, and that the one that I wrote had significant flaws. I will try to be more mindful in the future.
Meh, I guess I can join in on this
SCP-1058, opened a paradox and destroyed the universe. No, not rly. We put it in a different dimension, damn the thing. (Printing Press Factory, self-deletion. Re-writing.)
