We already have multiple magic TVs and objects that randomly kidnap people. But it's not a bad article.

The TV is not magic. Well, aside from running without power.
I'd like to know why the casing can't be opened. Is it remarkably durable, or have the attempts been delicate to avoid damaging the object?
The idea is that if someone starts tampering with it, it'll either send a warning signal to its maker, or explode and be useless.
Similarly, an attempt to open SCP-1882's casing led to it emitting a microwave pulse - probably a signalling system.
Right there. Letting people know the location of your super-secret facility is reason enough not to open it. Though since they had to do it at least once to find out that happened, maybe just throw in a line about how the insides are standard for a television of that make and model.
I noted the signalling system, but in the containment procedures, it explicitly states that any attempts to open the case should be done in a fashion untraceable to the Foundation. So, why can it not be opened once moved to a safe location using safe resources, at least for a very limited amount of time? If Zaratrustra's reply above is correct, and it will actually explode once tampered with, that should probably be mentioned.
A line giving a brief description of what was found the first time the case was opened does seem like the better option though.
How exactly does it form the duplicates? It seems like there would have to be some kind of selection process.
This didn't creep me out until we got those last little details suggesting what 1882-B might be. This does a fantastic job of hinting at the horrific, but not actually painting a complete picture. I really liked it, once I read the whole thing.
I have two questions / concerns:
Why would you buy such a thing from MC&D? What does it do for you other than "you get to see these horrific things?" Are the numbers the reward and watching this event is the price? Or are these just generic boring ol' sadists? I think there's a way to suggest what it does for you while still leaving how it works and why in mystery.
And what other stuff must the TV be insulated from? This is just kind of basic, but I think it's frowned on to have [REDACTED] in containment procedures?

See, I ended up with just the opposite; the closest I got is maybe some kind of quasi-vampire/zombie thing going on. Werewolves perhaps? Those Japanese ghost-demon-things from the Grudge?
Downvoted for obfuscating what exactly SCP-1882-B are. I initially thought you'd completely missed it out until I saw the bit at the end, but my hopes were dashed with a clumsy [DATA EXPUNGED].
That, and I'm a bit confused by MC&D's involvement. To my knowledge, MC&D don't make SCPs, they auction them (this seems more of a Factory job). And I can't see what value this item represents if they did make it. Who is going to buy this thing, in all honesty? You could just buy a bunch of horror movies if you liked the horror and violence, without paying through the nose to buy an anomalous TV set. Seems more like this is using MC&D to prop up the article.
Because each and every day, you get to see a new, random, and possibly famous person at their most vulnerable and intimate for about a whole day before getting [DATA EXPUNGED]. What's not to like?
I rather liked the bit where the Researcher was duplicated and managed to short-circuit the timeline by using Foundation protocols. Not enough for them to survive, but enough to just ruin that broadcast. I also like it that the individuals on the broadcast aren't actually removed from the rest of the world but just duplicated. Adds a nice bit of existential doubt. ("Am I real or am I just a temporary duplicate? Does my existence end when the TV is shut off?")
I do agree that this would be better if there was some better reason for not disassembling this. Even something like they actually recovered 3 intact copies (in addition to the destroyed ones) and when they tried to disassemble one, it fried its own internals by a boobytrap. I'm not sure which would be creepier: the remaining 2 display the same broadcast (implying that all of them show the same thing), or they show different broadcasts.
As for the MCD thing… I don't see why they would be providing this to their customers (remember: their customer base are ultra-rich, ultra-bored individuals looking for "that something special"). As it is, it's not Factory: there's neither an obviously useful aspect of this nor a cost to the user. And it's definitely not Wondertainment.
Giving bearhugs to the unsuspecting since 1872.

Me too!
I upvoted but this feels a lot like the normalpornfornormalpeople creepy pasta that was linked in the forums last week
and proceed to [DATA EXPUNGED]
This actually bothers me because it takes what could be interesting and took that information away, so I'm left with a big nothing. I'm gonna assume it's horrible gang rape and upvote.
Living the dream, or dreaming the life?
Oh, you can get horrible gang rape from any ol' media outlet.
and [REDACTED] signals.
Uuuugh. Redaction in containment protocols is like tar in honey. Originally downvoted just for this, then changed to upvote after loving the rest of the article.
