Drewbear, you are extremely awesome. Thank you for writing this.
love it, very useful. I think there can be a few things to add at a later stage, should it become apparent that people misuse certain terms, though i cant think of any right now. I jst hope this is added to the SCP guides area and isnt lost amongst other articles.
You're doing 343's work here, Drewbear. Bless you.
"it's vibrations"
How ironic.
Also, is it a SCP or an SCP? I honestly don't know the rule about acronyms.
I've seen it done either way. Grammatically, if you're reading SCP as "Ess Cee Pee" then it would be 'an', but if you're reading SCP as "Skip" then it would be 'a'. Since opinion is divided on pronunciation (and many people oppose definitively establishing one of the aforementioned pronunciations as "canonical" due to the lack of canon), I imagine you're fine either way. Just be internally consistent in an article.
I'd suggest less vs. fewer as a worthy addition, and possibly further vs. farther— as both pop up in descriptions of amounts/distances.
I'm not sure whether to alphabetize, organize by category or leave it as is. It's not much of a problem until we get more stuff, though.

This may be a better place for my rant about IQ on my old Random But Useful page— if you think it would fit, Drew, feel free to transfer it over.
Doing so now. Thanks!

I'm moving my Binomial Nomenclature rant over here, too. I am so sick of capitalized specific epithets, non-capitalized genus names, et frickin' cetera.

I was unaware of the capitalized genus thing, and actually screwed that up in the sentient/sapient discussion. Thanks to you I have learned something today, and my error has been corrected. :)
I am not a biology guy, so I deliberately didn't go into stuff like "cellular" or "genetic", since I didn't want to screw it up, like I originally did with the Homo sapiens sapiens bit.
Thanks for your addition!

No problem! I'll be tickled pink if people start reading and using it. ;)
I haven't got the time right now, but I'll write up something on the use & misuse of "cellular" and "genetic" in the near future.

"Terminated" is _not_ a synonym for "killed": "terminated" means "intentionally executed or killed as an outcome of a policy process". It's an important distinction.
