It reminds me of a combination of the lamppost and the pools in the woods from Narnia. Some might say it is too long. The first three tests could be condensed into a sentence or two total. Do the hours change with the season? Did they try to unbolt and move it or dig up a chunk around it? What compels people or things to stay in the light? Why did they not give the people food after the first one starved? Did they try a robotic drone? Put a bag over the light? the [Data Expunged] covers things that might make it more interesting.

There are a lot of portal SCPs, This one has potential.

I hadn't thought about the seasons. I could write something about that. In fact, thanks for the ideas. I could write some stuff up for this to incorporate these.
