A tale series about SCP-3999. That's as good as I can describe it.
Updates Mondays and Thursdays. That's more manageable for me.
If the page you are on "looks fine," it is most likely (but not certainly) because its theme is overriding the SCP Wiki's default Sigma-10 theme. If you were to then navigate to a Sigma-10 page, such as the Front Page, it would likely appear broken.
Alternatively, if you know for sure that Sigma-10 is loading, the error is most likely mistakenly appearing because you switched the Sigma-10 theme to a different theme using the ThemePreviewer module or another similar feature. If this is the case, and you are the author of the page, add the following code to it to remove the warning:
[[module css]]
#top-bar .ios-cache-issue-notification {
display: none !important;
}

To promote translations and readings of my work and thank all the authors for their hard work, I am linking to them here in addition to my author page.
Thank you all!
I added two related tales to this series to the hub. I don't think this tale series is strictly a "canon", and these are tales from the CN branch, but they cover enough similar themes and also are good in their own right, so I wanted to give these tales eyes. MottHery also has been translating this series into Chinese :3
I might go through all these tales and do little cleanups here and there all over. That'll be a more gradual process. Also that 3999-J tale will just be an extremely-late last-year Christmas present and an on-time this-year Christmas present.
These are deep waters. Swimming on the sunlit surfaces is different from diving to the places where the black moon howls.
My son's therapist once told me that I thought about thinking more than any other patient's parent she'd ever known. Oh, doctor, how little you knew. I am a child on the beach, playing with the shiny pebbles. Out beyond the breakers there are leviathans in the abyss.
Just woke up so I don't have the vocabulary to respond to this quite yet, but take my love for this comment.
No tale today. As it turns out, when Hearthstone releases a new expansion, I ignore everything else to play it.
I'll shoot for tomorrow.
This series is remarkably original, thought-provoking, and fluent. You did a really good job on this! +1

EDIT: Fixed the image.

Nothing to see here. Move along.
Will need to delay the finale to Friday, maybe Saturday at latest. I have to get it on-point, after all.
So yeah, when I started this series, I was in a dire spot and just had to write something. I didn't care what its rating was, so long as it was above 0. And now, I have my first finished tale series on the site, one of the most ambitious and unusual ones, and about an SCP I had formerly considered impossible to write tales about until now. So I'm proud of myself.
This series is largely not gonna be a work in progress, but the final tale may be. It took me an incredibly long time to write, edit, and pace, so errors may appear in there that weren't in the others.
I'll post a tale about 3999-J before the end of the month, because by this point I feel like I might as well go the whole distance.
Thanks to the following:
LordStonefish for being, for my money, the most influential writer on this site and writing an SCP deserving of all the praise and analysis it gets. Also, for believing in me and my series.
Taffeta for technical help. Without them, this series literally would not have gotten past the first tale.
Randomini and
Rejekyll for support technical help.
thefriendlyvandal and v1als for writing Portraits of Your Father and the character Draven Kondraki, respectively (though Vandal did provide some of Draven's characteristics and most/all of mannerisms which I based my Draven off of; I didn't find other written work with Draven posted before Portraits, after all).
Shaggydredlocks for saying the nicest thing that was ever said about my writing in #site19 one night that I'm too embarrassed to repeat here.
A: I'm sure there'll be a declassified about it.
A: Did you read the sixth tale?
A: My writing is a reflection of myself, my emotions, and my experiences, so I figured writing about me and having Talloran meet me (as was the case when Talloran came into my dreams during a couple nights over the course of the last month) would only be suitable for a series where I broke almost every rule.
A: Read those articles to figure out! Some connections are blatantly obvious; some aren't. All were used and read extensively in order to incorporate elements, themes, motifs, and sense of scale for the writing, as I needed some form of grounding.
A: They mean something, but you'll have to figure them out. I will say some are very simple and surface-level (Dying Out West; Site-118 I figured was on the West Coast, or Western United States), some are pretty obtuse (Only Once Away My Son). Good luck!
A: Non-binary, so; yes. This of course only applies to my tale series for now, but Stonefish was on-board with it and I basically read Talloran as having a hard time grasping the current gender binary for many reasons (read into my tale series to discern some of those!).
A: Yeah! She's a doctor who works at Site-118 (used to work at Site-17 with Talloran). She's very cheerful and energetic, and works obscene amounts of hours in order to take care of people and innovate and improve the Foundation's current medical facilities and technology. She hates being called a nurse. She is in her 40s in this series, which places her as being older than Talloran by a minimum of, let's say ten years?
A: No. But you can reference characters/traits/mannerisms/story plots etc in your other works. But this isn't a canon; it's a closed tale series.
A: Feel free to ask!
Still working on that 3999-J tale! In the meantime, I made several minor edits for the series that, while not wholly significant (save for distinguishing between some characters in a couple of tales), should improve the overall quality of life of these articles.
Was thinking about this series again today- the fact that it's so underrated is just a travesty. If there's one piece I can pretty unambiguously say is "too good" for this place, it's this series.
You did a phenomenal job, Deci, and should be very proud.
Gosh, I'm glad people liked it this much. Thank you everyone. It means a lot.
Although I had joined the site around April 2017, I didn't start participating in the community and becoming fully engaged until around November of that year. This tale series was being published at the time, and I distinctly remember eagerly waiting for new installments to be published. They were some of the best articles that I had read at the time, and even now, three years later, there has been little else published to change that. This is one of my absolute favorite tale series on the site, one that I have reread many times. Thank you for writing it.
can I get some nice "no signatures on my forum"
sigma-9 css machine broke
understandable have a nice day
