This is the first part of a little sequence of Tales I've written called Three Conversations. I'll post the other two parts relatively soon, but it seemed like I should try to attract interest first. In this episode: a researcher recovering from recent trauma has been having dreams about an impossible SCP from long ago.

I was inspired to write this after reading through the old, pre-Wikidot SCP series and finding that article. I can tell pretty clearly why it isn't on the wiki now, but that made me wonder whether there could be an IC explanation for that.

I agree: excellent story.

Are you considering this as part of the Game Day series, or is that just a jumping-off point?

I, too, was a little unclear about the "immediate amnesiacs" bit. I thought that getting info on Omicron, etc, was what the O5s wanted, THEN wipe him clean. Especially since there's already indications that they're keeping an eye on him.

Game Day is just the jumping-off point. It's true that O5 is keeping tabs on him, but…well, you weren't supposed to know that yet. I guess that came across better than I thought. I'm going to actually edit that now.

"The thing that should exist" being an anti-entropy device seems sort of anticlimactic. But if it can somehow lead to a reality-restructuring event which greatly increases the number of SCPs, it might actually deserve to be called that…

Excellent story! One little nit to pick. Dr. Skinner was told to learn all she could about Omicron, etc, but the minute David mentions it, she pushes the button and he is made to forget. Shouldn't he just have been restrained, or have her call out to restrain him before the agent injects him? I figure they would want to keep questioning him.

IC answer: Dr. Skinner was told that Omicron &c. were classified materials that David wasn't supposed to know about. Priority two was finding out information, but priority one was keeping him from knowing about it.

OOC answer: I may have changed some details about the story as a whole and not made it consistent throughout. Lemme check.
