Yes, Bright, I know you're downvoting this. But your suggestions were all I got, and I couldn't think of any way to use them short of scrapping the story.
So, since I wasn't willing to do that, we get Poor Bastard, my newest Tale.
Enjoy.
Sorry, it doesn't gell for me. Not compatible with my headcanon on how 963 works.

Is Bright aka 963-1 even a hivemind, in the "connected minds" kind of way ? I thought that it's more like a personality xerox machine, no ?
That depends. There's precedent that "a little is left behind' for everyone that's overwritten, which is one that I've used myself in tales like Unfinished Business and Bright used in We're Off to be the Lizard.

Only a little left of Bright's mind the old man's body. Nothing else.
But all of him should still be in 963. Just transfer it to a new body, and bam, bright back in order.

this. the foundational concept of this article seems to show a lack of comprehension of the item….what happens to the brights outside, even if they did form a hive mind, ought to have no bearing upon the contents of the amulet. all the brights died? oh well.
I don't think 963 would work that way, but the writing is good. +1 for the quality, but I don't think headcanon will change for me either.
And here too. I enjoyed reading this enough for the upvote.
Still does nothing for me. Too similar to the original product for it to really make sense. Meh.
There's a lot that Bright (the author) hasn't explained about SCP-963 (Amnesiacs? Does he sense the passage of time when he doesn't have a body?) but this doesn't feel right.
There's a deleted scene somewhere around here, that talks about how Bright relives all of his deaths while inside 963, in some kind of constant loop. Don't think ie ver actually posted it.

Damn. I know I've never seen that. Sheesh, considering he has to do that every 30 days, and I assume that if he exceeds it the body gets an imprint and he would go back to the "Faces of Death, Ultimate Edition" I can understand why he's never thought to just not go IN a body…
er, wait what? after 30 days the body is just him permanently even without the amulet attached, but that doesnt have an effect on the amulet, which can now be placed on someone else to make yet another bright…..bright doesnt choose or not choose to "go in" to a body, like it would mean him leaving the amulet…
As long as hes on a body, the core personality in the amulet is in charge, even past thirty days. It's just that, if it goes past thirty days, and he comes off, it's a new Bright, one who grows and changes differently from the core personality inside the amulet.
Another of my head canony bits is that 963, while it has no psychic lure, tends to end up in places where it can be picked up, if left unused. Lock it up in a vault, and, during the next Keter outbreak, or insurgency attack, it'll end up being blown out of said vault, and right into a spot where someone who doesn't know what it is will pick it up.

Well, last I checked it was supposed to be glued to him - so to get it off, I was picturing it being torn off, dropped in an acid to clean it (it's impervious to harm, after all) then glued to the next body. A bullet to the head first might make it less painful.
Then again, SCP-291 would probably work quite well for a painless removal…
There's 2 mentions of 'overdoes', where I think it should be overdose or overdoses
Also there's an 'amnesic' rather than amnesiac.
Whether or not that's how SCP-963 works, I think the idea of it getting cross contaminated with something that does cause a hive mind out break is great. Also the idea of it starting out subtle, slowly spreading from person to person, and finally being undone by one guard massacring everyone else, is brutal and I like it.
