Thanks to my beta readers fieldstone IHP does not match any existing user name MaliceAforethought and Dr Solo.

Also thanks to Randomini and Metaphysician for being okay with me using their characters in Dread & Circuses (The Wandsman of Kul-Manas will appear in a future tale).

Well, old man Darke is a delightful addition to the Mickey D gang. Intriguing world building, lots of atmospheric detail, and the promise of more to come. The suggestion that Iris herself may not necessarily be who she thinks she is was especially good; that she doesn't apparently *care* is even better.

Well done. This fits my view of darke perfectly, as well as being a great and organized (seeming) addition to the canon. I'd love to see how this goes.

It's a shame that MC&D (and this particular canon) doesn't get more attention. I love reading this so much from time to time when I have downtime. With how lovely both of the Darks are presented, I think this is my canon version of them from now on

Some of the scariest people are those who put pragmatism ahead of emotional reactions like revenge. They are capable of some ice-cold and very rational thinking, and those who oppose them will suffer the more for it.

Dark and Iris both have that mentality, and it's frightening considering the world they live in.
