This totally should have been a 1000 contest entry.
The recent "inexplicable wildlife-oriented machinery" theme has produced some awesome articles, and this is no exception.
I think the tone might be improved if 918-1 were described as "creatures resembling members of the Ciconiidae family" (or whichever species you had in mind) rather than just "storks". Everything else is fantastic.
A bit silly. I like the machinery, though the fact that it released talcum powder is kind of odd, and not in an interesting way. Also, storks probably couldn't fly carrying a baby. Now, I know they're not really storks, but the typical infant probably outweighs the stork by a fair bit.
Storks are involved with newborn babies, but the popular legends have it backwards. Heheheh.
Instances of SCP-918-1, when dissected, do not appear to possess any skeleton, internal organs or flesh.
Then what's inside them? Are they hollow? Filled with cotton? If they were made of nothing but muscle tissue that would be sufficiently weird.
I think flesh here MEANS muscle. They're just a hollow shell of skin and feathers.
I meant "if they were made of nothing but muscle tissue" as an alternative where "or flesh" was left off of the description. If they're hollow it should just say that they're hollow.
Great now I can't do baby-stealing dingoes…. Just kidding +1 I like it. Now we have to stop them climbing in our windows and snatching our babies up…
