Does this mean the "new organs" fail after three years approx?
Ah, yes, a person would have to get a renewal every 2 years or so.
EDIT: Added. Also that is a horrible pun.
Do they reproduce after they replace an organ? If so, you should give an indication, plus maybe a tiny hint as to how it works.
Mating [DATA EXPUNGED], followed by the egg hatching into a newborn instance of SCP-839.
For me, there's not enough information for the [DATA EXPUNGED] to suggest anything unsettling; it just makes me scratch my head.
Green Apple | Green | Eyes
Shouldn't that be "Eye (one)"? Or does it split in two before replacing the eyes?
It's not supposed to be unsettling. I'm just pretty sure nobody wants to read about the mating process of two worms in an SCP document.
Yes, it does one eye. I'll clarify that.
I'm just pretty sure nobody wants to read about the mating process of two worms in an SCP document.
Then wouldn't be better to just say "it reproduces like a normal annelid"? If its reproductive habits are no different than for normal annelids, I think that the Foundation would just say something like that, rather than spending paragraphs documenting the same things that could be found in an ordinary biology book.
I just finished eating some gummi worms.
I love you all.
Living the dream, or dreaming the life?
Dammit, you realized my one weakness- gummi animals…
But yeah, this just feels too much like a combination of your basic "replaces an organ with effects" parasite combined with SCP-819. In the end, I really don't care for it.
if your reading this your gay
Also, forgot to mention, some credit for this SCP goes to the deadly moose, as this SCP is the illegitimate offspring of when we were brainstorming our re-write of SCP-046.
I'm wondering what happens if you eat enough to replace all organs.
I'm wondering how replacing the heart causes increased blood sugar - that would be more of a pancreas of possibly kidney thing. High or low blood pressure or arrhythmia, something like that would make more sense.
Still a good article, though :D
i would upvote, except theres nothing saying how they were discovered. this isnt really something youd just go "hey these worms taste good"
Didn't you ever know one of those kids who would eat worms growing up just to gross out the girls? One of my favourite books growing up was How to Eat Fried Worms.
