I really like this story quite a bit. I think Sorts did a good job writing it, and I'm baffled at how little attention it seems to have gotten.

The way you described the second duplicate's motions…that was pretty disturbing.

Dr. Sorts and his impromptu squad of clay soldiers burst into the medical ward, which was a sea of bloodstained, writhing flesh, dripping with maggots. One of the replicas pretended to vomit. Dr. Sorts held his breath on the off chance he would wake up.

As I read this part and everything after, I noticed my mouth getting dry from hanging open.
