Might as well open this up. Also, thanks to VAEisenberg for the SCP-XXX fixes.
I like it - nice and unsettling without being too overtly dangerous. Although, I'm tempted to see what happens if you send a D-class through the unobserved section…
By sending someone through, wouldn't that person be observing the "unobserved" section?
Hmmm. I like it.
Feels like this is following a bit of a formula though. Strange thing gets dangerous upon trying to investigate it too closely. We've got a lot of that stuff… I kind of like that overall theme but I almost wish for a different twist.
Heh - there are four possibilities there i guess.
Not dangerous -> becomes dangerous close up - This.
Dangerous -> becomes benign when investigated - SCP-EX type stuff
Not dangerous -> not dangerous - Tickle monster
Dangerous -> dangerous - About half SCP's

I see someone found Dr. Freeman's luggage…
Damn it! I was going to say only a free man would want one of these…
This article is being placed up for review. Check it out, it needs more attention.
Once again, this one is just holding back on the good stuff. It's all building up to some weird shit being up in this luggage, and then when we actually get there, it's… kind of a letdown. The author really had the chance to go wild here, but held themselves back. I'm really growing weary of articles that are all buildup to some [DATA EXPUNGEF]. I mean… look at this bit.
releasing [DATA EXPUNGED], which caused substantial damage to the conveyor system area and the deaths of two on-site personnel. Despite the scale of the event, SCP-985 itself was undamaged, and the remains of the [DATA EXPUNGED] were unable to be recovered.
This article would be significantly better without expungement like that.
Whether you like it or not, history is on our side. We will bury you!
Adding to that the preceding line, it would be significantly better without poor behavioral logic like:
This instance was opened by researchers (survivors reported sounds from inside the case as their reason for forgoing typical precautions)
I would think that sounds suddenly coming from inside the case would call for more precautions, not fewer.
Also, seconding the notion that it held back what could have made it great.
Actually, I can handwave that away as the researchers being subtly influenced by that whole "pick me up and take me with you" lure that the luggage normally has.
Giving bearhugs to the unsuspecting since 1872.
I think the first paragraph would flow better with the term "activated" being replaced by "notified"
It is kinda generic and would definitely benefit from having something that stands out. The airport luggage conveyor is one thing, now something else.
fixed a "the the SCP" at the bottom of containment procedures.
This instance was opened by researchers (survivors reported sounds from inside the case as their reason for forgoing typical precautions) releasing [DATA EXPUNGED]
Not a criticism or anything, I just enjoy thinking that the original text said "… releasing ONE MILLION BEES!"
