Game Day Part 1 is now open to writers. Please read the Information before contributing, and let me know if you have any questions.

Act 1: This act takes place over a period of 24 hours. A massive attack on a Foundation containment site has injured several key members of the SCP Foundation and caused multiple containment breaches. The theme for this act is SECURE: tell stories about the Foundation dealing with multiple containment breaches and responding to a major attack on one of their secure facilities.

Note: Feel free to contribute to this primary events log whenever possible, but keep in mind that the primary events log is in-character: use logs, transcripts, and official documents to tell the story. If you wish to tell something more narrative, place them in the "Foundation Tales" section at the bottom of the page. Just be sure to include the words "Game Day Part 1" somewhere in the title.

Please be considerate to other users: remember that while one person is editing the file, no others may do so. Write your contributions off-line, then copy-and-paste them into this file to minimize the time the page is under lock.

A note on tone: At the moment, I'm going to let the tone be dictated by the writers, but I would like to say one quick thing: This is a SERIOUS event, and should be acknowledged as such. Feel free to go crazy awesome (that being a trademark of SCP Foundation), but try not to cross the line into outright comedy.

In order to prevent time paradoxes and continuity errors, please list any SCPs that you are using or plan to use under the collapsible.

I'm a little confused here. Are we supposed to put prose in the "Start Writing Here" part, or do we save it for the related foundation tales?

Put Foundation Tales on different pages, linked at the bottom. Start Writing Here is where you can start putting your logs and transcripts.

That was me. Putting my first contribution, mostly to put it in chronological order.

Mostly, I want more. Hoping that as the collab continues, we get to see more of Edison trying to be Bruce Willis.

The only thing I don't like about this setup is that I can't continue the "Edison vs. Roadrunner" rivalry without ruining mood of the event.

Ah well, Edison needed serious character development anyway, so it's not a huge loss.

EDIT: Out of curiosity, who would work well for a "Voice With an Internet Connection"? I'm thinking maybe Dr. King could work, as long as I limit the number of Appleseed jokes.

I dunno, I just think that a Die Hard parody/homage/pastiche would be the wrong place to throw it a jab at a Sitcom Arch-Nemesis, beacuse I feel there are only three ways it could work.

1. Edison has to choose between saving Roadrunner and saving a McGuffin of some sort, so naturally he lets Roadrunner fall to his death. This would probably piss off Roadrunner's writer in all sorts of ways so I'm not doing that. Actually I could probably do this if he got a comedicly painful injury instead of dying.
2. He's working for the villains. As much as I (or, rather, Edison) jokes about this, I kinda doubt he would actually sell out the Foundation like that. And even if he really was as two-faced as Edison believes he is, why the hell would he want to release someone who could destroy the world? It's not a very good survival instinct.
3. Edison only thinks he's working for the villains. Okay, this one could also work, but only if I use it sparingly.

Oh yeah, we should probably keep a list of SCPs that have been used or we plan to use in the event, so we don't wind up with any major continuity errors (for example, two characters "borrowing" the same SCP at approximately the same time).

So far we've got:
SCP-427, SCP-154, SCP-161, and SCP-912 (all "Borrowed" by Edison)
SCP-353 (En route to Biohazard Storage Facility, accompanied by unknown assailants)
SCP-953 (Possibly Roaming Free)
SCP-737 (Roaming Free)

SCP-577, for humor value. Or possibly SCP-049 if you want to go for more of a "Slasher Villain" type of monster. Or even SCP-439 if you want something more "natural".

I would like to emphasize that writers should do their writing off-line, then edit the page only to copy-paste into the shared page. In practice, you should not have the page locked for editing for longer than five minutes.

Out of curiosity, who exactly are the attackers? The Insurgency? The Church of the Broken God? An entirely new faction? Or are we just going to leave it unresolved?

Personally, I'm going into this assuming that every faction that hates the Foundation (except maybe the GOC) decided to team up and attack Site-17 at the same time, either because they planned it that way from the start, because they saw an opportunity, or because of dumb luck.

They're each going into this trying to accomplish something (or several things) different, but they all have a common enemy, and don't see the other factions as threats to their superiority (at first).
