For the contest, I wanted to SCP-ify a NYC legend, and went with "alligators in the sewers"… there is a draft at the top of my sandbox:

This is… alligators in the sewers. That's basically it. Beyond the mimicry, this is a straight import of the urban legend. Also, I'm pretty sure ladders in the sewer system can't support a 1000kg creature. Not that that matters, because they have completely the wrong feet/body for ladder use. Are you sure that the really big alligators can climb?

I like the concept, of making your submission based on that urban legend; it's a good one. But this isn't the way to go.

The really big ones can't climb. Maybe they work together in small groups to hunt, implying they are somewhat intelligent?

As an alternative to the mimicry, I was thinking of them producing a subsonic vibration that draws people to them, in a bit of a trance…so you're obliviously walking up to this thing you should obviously be running away from.

You're probably still going to say they are semi-realistic alligators with one special power. I'm trying to think of something more interesting they could do that makes sense…
