Nice look at a botched operation from the eyes of a grunt in the field, and the ass-saving brother-bullshitting that inevitably follows.

The SCP exhibited a previously unobserved phenomenon and spontaneously generated multiple holes in itself, with small plugs that appear to be formed of a lead/copper mixture.
Really.
I have this image of the flipside story where the an MTF is trying to convince an Overseer what happened when an SCP really DID blow up from what looks like a grenade….
I like it. 'Nobody' gets mentioned only once on the site, we need to have more about him/it.
I don't know if you were here at the time, but Nobody was originally named something else and a reference to a character written by an author who has since had all his material deleted. So there used to a lot on what is now the Nobody character, but it's all gone now. That said, I also like that someone is writing about the new Nobody.
Giving bearhugs to the unsuspecting since 1872.
I think we'll like this new Nobody better than the old fool.
I upvoted, then started to scroll down to comment, paused, scrolled back up and tried to upvote again, scrolled down, clicked ratings and tried to upvote again. This is that good.
O5: Hm. So Nobody came by, took your gun from you, shot the man you were order to take alive thirty-eight times in the chest, stabbed him nine times, then pushed him off the cliff, all before you could do anything about it?
Grunt: Yeah! Bastard stole my wallet, too.
Wow. I've been looking for stuff about nobody ever since I read about him in the GIS, and this is fantastic.
Maybe Nobody doesn't actually exist, and is just the scapegoat for anything that goes wrong in the field. Whatever he/she/it is, this is the kind of stuff that I want to see more of.
If I could up vote more than once, I would.
I'm pretty sure Nobody upvoted this.
Also: why haven't I played a game yet where I give someone a live grenade before pushing him off a roof?
There was a Quake mod that had "sticky" grenades. You'd shoot them and they'd stick to things… and people. Yes, it was just as much fun as it sounds.
"Oh, you just nailed me with FIVE grenades from that launcher? COME HERE AND GIVE ME A HUG!!!"
Yeah, I've definitely stuck people with grenades before (and mines, as far back as Goldeneye), and I've definitely pushed people off of roofs before (GTA and others)… it's the combination that I'd like to see. I guess I have to accept the fact that Nobody does it better.
In a time travel RPG in High School, someone threw a grenade at some unsuspecting Nazi, but it was going to fall short.
One cry of "Yo! Fritz! Catch!" and spectacular roll later, and a local legend was born.
Hey kids, this is the discussion page for a Foundation tale. If you want to tell awesome RP stories, make a thread for it in the forums.
Awesome, awesome stuff. I usually stay clear of stuff that tries to cleverly explain other stuff, but this is great.
