I've used Lyft about a dozen times and every single driver I've gotten was rated 4.7-4.9 stars. I started wondering why I'd never seen a 5-star driver and this SCP was the result.

People who gave feedback on this, in no particular oder:

Image notes (I ran this by the Image Team before posting, this is what they told me to say): The screenshot in the image is from the Lyft app. It was taken by me and modified by me; I added the censor bars, changed the license plate so it didn't actually correspond to any real number, and changed the photo (to a selfie, so no rights issues there). I claim this as transformative fair use.

This was a lot of fun to read! I had a lot of compassion for SCP-3525-2. I imagine what that experience must be like for him. =(

Just throwing this out there, but couldn't the foundation just rate those guys lower that 5 stars to neutralize them? Also what happens if you work for Uber or whatever and your first customer gives you 5 stars? Do you become one of the drivers?

The info of the drivers in question isn't actually stored in the apps' databases, so rating them down doesn't have any effect. Getting a 5-star rating doesn't turn you into one of the drivers; it's the mechanism by which they attract riders. I updated the containment procedures to make it clear that only the "unknown" 5-star drivers are anomalous and to be contained.

I enjoy the core idea and logs a lot, it comes together really nicely in a comprehensive way. All I would add is that the tone seems off a bit in the containment procedures, and that perhaps listing what ride sharing app was used in each of the test logs (eg. Test took place in Boston, Lyft was used) and so on. Just to add an additional level of testing competency, which you already did such a good job with.

I very much enjoyed it overall, easily a +1 for me.

That was pretty good. I feel like the interview log at the end was making it too obvious about what was going on, but this still had a great sense of mystery and progression in it. Every part here served a purpose while consistently changing things up, which is something I always enjoy in an SCP.

Way to make my anxiety over cab services worse, dude.

When I first started reading, I thought this was going to be another lackluster "recent popular thing but as an scp" entry and was ready to downvote. But at the end of it all, you managed to make a coherent plot, and the whole 'lyft drivers as extradimensional memory-eaters' thing is actually legitimately unnerving.

I might just be saying that because I'm already paranoid, though. Still, +1.

Just out of interest, black cab drivers in London need to pass a test before they can officially drive.

That test is called The Knowledge. Might be something to consider…
