I watched a man sit comfortably in a nice armchair, sipping scotch and laughing as he ordered a woman to simply stop breathing.
Which article is this? I must know.

SCP-209, the sadist's tumbler. One of my old favorites. It's never gotten the story treatment I think it deserves.
I've got this covered for you, Yoric. I'm fluent in internet.
This:
actually i which ones are all of these?
Roughly translates to this:
Sir, I was hoping to inquire as to which articles, tales, or additional documentations you were referring to when you wrote the individual stanzas of this poem. Could you please enlighten me? Or would you prefer that I discover them on my own while reading the site in the future? I fully respect your feelings, regardless of the answer, and I appreciate the work you do here for the site. Cheers!
Hope that helps, man.
"WELL FOUNDATION. YOU MADE IT SO EASY. SO VERY VERY EASY." - dimensionpotato
Ah.
I don't really want to spoilers for people who prefer to figure them out themselves.
Troy, you could make good money hiring out these translation services. Just sayin'.
Your translations are hilarious. My mother likes them a lot :)
SCP-173, SCP-231-7, SCP-008, SCP-176 SCP-209, Then XK-end of the world scenario. I'm sorry if some are off, Just guessing for the most part on what I've read. Hope I've helped even if it is late. I browsed the files for you, your welcome.
Tsar Erwin the First.
This was intended to just be the sort of thing a random researcher does to blow off steam. I imagine it being found in an otherwise empty desk in an abandoned office building someplace or something.
Owaaaa. I do greatly enjoy this. I can identify SCP's and somehow it fits just as well, if not better. Without the knowledge it seems to be the rantings of some crazy man driven insane by a horrendous situation. It may as well be such a thing, but at least one can relate to the horror when one understands the articles referrenced.
Living the dream, or dreaming the life?
What I'd like to do is have someone whip up some official looking Foundation letterhead and print this out on it with the site URL at the bottom and start leaving it lying around places.
That sounds brilliant. If you get it done, I would like to help leaving it around in random places.
Same here!
Living the dream, or dreaming the life?
Well, to start it, I simply grabbed the base letterhead used in the SCP PDF project, but I'm probably going to place an order with Vistaprint or someone shortly to get something more realistic looking. If it will let me make it public, I'll post the link.
Or you could just scan one of the prints and upload the image file for the rest of us…
I'd give it a shot if I could find a high-quality symbol somewhere.
Also, what about having the URL as a QR code with some interesting and tempting label?
Should the photocopy effect be applied?
Ask aelanna in chat for a link to the site they created; it has a pretty high rez version of the symbol.
Thanks.
I tried fiddling around with an old-photocopy style version, but I didn't like it.
So I just went with a memo design, and added the logo and a CLASSIFIED warning at the bottom.
http://www.filedropper.com/scpmodern
I forgot to place the URL, but a simple google search of any of the lines(or Secure. Contain. Protect.) will bring it to our site.
It might look neat to just scrawl the url across the bottom.
I'm not a design major but I think the logo and the header fields could use a little…shrinking. The INTERNAL MEMO comment probably warrants the large bolding but wouldn't that mean that the rest of the template bits (logo, header fields) should be a tad smaller to compensate?
Good point. Spacing been reduced a bit.
Also Yoric's right, it looks better just to handwrite the url rather than typing it in.
EDIT: New host this time
If anyone wants a variation, here's the one I've been doing; My Version it's 1 page (which required a touch of re-formatting — apologies to Yoric), and I've been printing it, and scrawling the scp address on the back in pencil.
I also printed some stickers with the QR code, and stuck them on a few, but they just didn't seem believable to me. Still, I've stuck them on a few random things at my office, to give the curious something to find… If anyone want to make some varient, here's the QR code: QR Code
I was going to just make a SCP Letterhead on VistaPrint, but after seeing Dr Lowman's version I decided it wasn't worth it.
Actually, that looks almost exactly like what I'd pictured when I wrote it. The "secure contain protect" bit at the bottom was supposed to look like a document footer; that's why it's in a different font. Good work!
I can't get the links for the filedrop. Did it die or something? It just redirects me to the upload page. What's up?
Living the dream, or dreaming the life?
Dunno; maybe it has a expiration or something.. I'd never used FileDrop until I saw Dr Lowman use it above, and decided to try it.
Anyway, I just re-uploaded it, and the link should work now.
*EDIT* I just checked, and the site says:
"The files are kept forever as long as they are being downloaded. If the files are not downloaded even once within 30 days consecutively they are removed. If you have a premium account your files are never deleted."
It hasn't been 30 days as far as I can tell, but yeah.. they do delete 'em eventually.
Thank you!
Living the dream, or dreaming the life?
Somebody named bland didn't read the rest of the thread, where we covered that.
I tried to download that QR code, what I got was 410 pictures of cars.
Sorry, that site only holds active images, and no one has downloaded it forever.. (well, 6 months, or so..)
I'm traveling for work right now, but I can rebuild it and add a version with QR code to the article, but if you want it in a hurry, just do what I did… Google 'free qr code generator.'
Funny, today in my creative writing class our professor assigned to us a poem in which every line or every other line begins with the same word or phrase. I immediately thought of this.
I was thinking a story about the extent and horror of what the Foundation contains, but this did it so much better than I ever could.
On an unrelated note, based off of my readings, doesn't the Foundation have something against experimenting with children unless necessary?
Do you mean "based on my readings the Foundation says it has something against experimenting with children unless necessary"? Because that's really a totally different thing, isn't it?
No. I've never found an explicit statement of that idea. But several articles (namely, the termination log of 682) show the Foundation being very adverse to using children unless the situation calls for it. And, in light of that, it seems, well, wrong to use 447 on them.
I thought they were using SCP-008. I always imagined 447 as something much worse.
if your reading this your gay
I was thinking of 008 when I wrote it, yeh.
Ah. Sorry. Still, it doesn't really seem right to be using children. Either way, very good story.
Actually, the question of "would the Foundation resort to using children in testing if it felt it might be helpful?" is a good one. Personally, I'm strongly on the side of yes, yes it would.
And, of course, I now hear a computer voice singing:
We do what we must
because we can.
Interestingly, the next lines seem to fit SCP rather well…
For the good of all of us.
Except the ones who are dead.
Congratulations. You get the reference.
SCP-682 joins in:
And believe me I am STILL ALIVE
I'm doing Science and I'm STILL ALIVE
I feel FANTASTIC and I'm STILL ALIVE
While you're dying I'll be STILL ALIVE
And when you're dead I will be STILL ALIVE
STILL ALIVE
STILL ALIVE

HolidayGaben, you're responding to a comment that's 1531 days old, and doesn't really need explaining. Most people who use these forums understand what spamming is.
(Also, instead of using the [[code]] syntax, just use the quote box (the chevron symbol > followed by a space) since not everything is displayed as a block quote when you input the quoted material as code.)
Furthermore, the poster you're referencing is actually the one who introduced the Portal reference in this thread to begin with.
I've figured them all out except the one with the girl and the rose. Can I get a hint?
It's referencing a rather excellent Foundation tale posted the day before this was.
