Spaceman arrives to steal Earth's bug spray, more at 11.

Thanks to Lazar, DrMagnus, Zyn, SunnyClockwork, Tufto, riyangendut, Icepick/mortos, and Shio for crit.

"But Lex why couldn't it just invent bug spray on its own?" Because that's not the way it thinks. Making extradimensional exosuits comes to it more naturally than inventing bug spray.

"Sentient spacetime anomaly" is an idea I've wanted to do for a while and this was the most natural implementation for me. I might do another take on it in the future. Further inspiration was provided by a picnic and waiting too long at a train platform.

I really dig the exploration logs. I always liked fleshy or otherwise strangely biological landscapes, and the idea of a sentient spacial anomaly is really cool. 1+

In my mind, some of the best SCPs are the ones that are simply fucking weird from our perspective, because that's probably what a real anomaly would be.

This is one such SCP.

I like a lot of the imagery on display but the description could be streamlined. There were several sections which confused me, especially near the start. I think it probably wouldn't take a lot for me to flip my vote but the presentation is just not there for me yet.

Seconding Dankaar. This is intriguingly weird with a garnish of body horror nightmare fuel. The image of the pseudopods spraying insecticide at the bugs chasing the drone works well.

Would you object to me (or would you be open to adding yourself) a footnote with the common name (new world screw fly) to the scientific name? It seems like standard scp procedure, and it would've stopped me from clicking out to wikipedia.

Edit: Also "Harrisburg PD" seems off. It's the Harrisburg Police Bureau, normally just "Harrisburg Police." They do use the abbreviation "HPD" occasionally. Souce: grew up there. Although I think you may live there? Because otherwise why would anyone write about Harrisburg? ;)

Wow it took me a while to get to this. I've updated the article with your suggestions. Harrisburg was just a random choice, I just wanted somewhere in the US people were unlikely to have heard of before.

It sounds like it doesn't really move very often so in it's long dormant periods it's probably pretty easy to move it back to containment/create new containment for it.
