I'd like to thank all who read this over. Posting this has been a long time coming. I was originally waiting to get this narrated, but over the course of two years (or more), I realized that was a pipe dream. Regardless, I hope you all enjoy!

It looks like ArmageddonFabric has deleted their account. Regardless, here are the private messages proving I have permission:
Well, that works out well. Thanks! :)

I can safely say that this is the longest tale I have ever read where every second was indubitably worth it.
Take all the +1s, mate, you deserve them.
There are very few things on the site that make me pissed when nobody reads them as much as "long tales". The complaints stating this "needs you to understand the canon" are, if my "haven't read anything from this canon since literal years ago" viewpoint is any representative, insubstantial enough that I was willing to upvote this only partially through for the atmosphere this generated and my ability to follow it regardless of my ignorance of the canon.
It stands on its own, it's got all the pretty pictures you might want to see courtesy of the magnificent Sunny, and its characters are drawn well enough that I was willing to ride with them even though I have mixed feelings about the rest of the canon. This thing's been in the works for a while, if the other members of chat who knew about it are any indication, and it shows. Upvoted once again at the end to confirm that nothing in the rest of this convinced me to reverse or nullify it.
Just joined the site properly, but I've read everything in the Pitch Haven hub while lurking without an account.
I got to the end of this and just started bawling and I feel a strong desire to go hug my mom. Thank you for that, sincerely.
+1.
Didn't make me want to hug my mom as much as it just made me want to hug Clovis. Can someone make a Clovis plushie?
This is a fantastic ride and the illustrations only make the imagery feel that much more visceral and real. The dislocation Stuart goes through is easy to identify with as we've all been through dark and transitional periods in our lives and the more fantastical elements serve that alienation and reconciliation at the center of the story well. Seeing the end of the way he had lived his life until the start of the story was particularly heartbreaking, sets the stage well for the rest of the piece.
I'm saddened to see this appears to have flown under a lot of folks radar and if you are seeing this as you scroll through recently created I urge you to find the time to give it a read. It's well worth your time.
Whether you like it or not, history is on our side. We will bury you!
Can't believe I forgot to comment on this; I was hyped upon seeing this on your sandbox for the first time, and I was so happy when it was finally posted. This is great; Stuart and Clovis are great characters, the setting is interesting, and the images are used effectively. Ms. Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children should take notes; this is how you integrate old-timey images into a story.
There is so much world-building in this article alone. This is such an amazing addition to Pitch Haven lore.
