Concept was mine (hresult) but yoric did the editing. Cheers.
I didn't do much more than fix a few commas, so I'm upvoting. If that bugs anyone, they can say so.
Given the repeated mention of sand in test subjects' shoes, I'd expect to see a note about testing done on it. Perhaps something along the lines of "Testing shows the sand recovered from test subjects' shoes to be composed primarily of silica, with trace mineral and organic components consistent with [REDACTED]"
A couple of pedantic notes - "ER" stands for "Emergency Room", so the photo is apparently of an Emergency Room room; also, at least in American spelling, there is no "u" in "forty", but if that's a proper spelling in another English-speaking country (yay Americans doing things differently) it's all good.
…What's wrong with ER?
Emergency room room. Derp.
Was good, I liked it tons. Engaging and thought provoking, which is exactly what I like in an SCP.
Test subject regained consciousness…
…subject was observed to be in a persistent vegetative state…
I think these two are mutually exclusive.
Oh wow, how'd I miss this when I was reading through? Yeah, I think that should be fixed. Like, "subject has been in a persistent vegetative state since retrieval."
As a below comment says, I also don't get why ages and heights are blackboxed. Percentages are okay to blackbox sometimes, but basic features of test subjects? Doesn't make sense to me.
Didn't want to make posts on multiple really old comments, so wanted to add that here instead of down below.
Those two things are keeping me from upvoting right now. Otherwise like the SCP as a whole. It's just… weird, and I sometimes like it when a scip just makes me think "wtf is this and how did it get there?"
Has the picture gone missing, or is it just me? I know I've seen it within the last few weeks, but it won't load for me now.
(Also: why redact the ages and heights of the test subjects?)
Agreed, the blacked ages, heights, and percentages earlier in the article seemed a bit pointless. Admittedly, they would contribute little if they were specified, but the percentages could be made relevant and interesting if the Foundation delved into what differentiates "the majority" of subjects from the minority that is more or less unaffected.
SI units gripe - heights should be █.██ m, not █'██". Otherwise, excellent SCP
