I've had this idea for months and months now, but I had no idea how to write it until a couple months ago where it clicked for me. So fuck yeah.

Thanks to:

• Gaffney for his feedback and pointing out many things that made the article better.
• Silberescher for inspiring me to make this through his Black Queen and Fifthist stuff, as well as general critique.
• psul for writing a certain thing that sparked the inspiration inside me to write this thing.
• djkaktus, SoullessSingularity, and Faminepulse for writing the Fifthist stuff for the GoI Contest.
• Taffeta, 9Volt, and LordStonefish for liking it.

Music I listened to while writing: XTC's Skylarking, Robert Ashley's The Park.

EDIT: If anyone is curious what Skylarking means:

The title was chosen as a double entendre, referring to a type of bird (skylark), as well as the British navy term "skylarking", which means "fooling around"

There is a lot to like in this article, but the thing I appreciate most is the relatively minor fact that AWCY? is not just "pretentious hipster douchebag wizards." They just want to make a statement about things, however that ends up shaking out.

I also like the ending a great deal, which is something that I almost never say with GoI format stuff.

e: Also the Fifthist stuff, Metal's enthusiasm for everything, and the fact that you turned a not-nice thing into a nice thing. Easy +1

I enjoy things that come so very close to being comprehensible, but pull back at the last moment. If at some point I'm able to understand it, great, but I'm enjoying it right now.

If it helps, while the babble at the end isn't clear-cut, I tried to write an internal consistency to it; this was the part of the article that underwent the most rewrites for me. It's all connected.

It's a fun, innocent AWCY article about an anart activist concert that kicks ass across the multiverse. Innocent up until the Sagrada Familia bit at which point everything goes to hell, but it's nice seeing AWCY portrayed as more than just wankers.

Oh yes, that's the stuff!

I wasn't quite sure about the opening, but the sharp turn towards the end caught me off-guard in the best way.
