Basically, I have this idea for an SCP that's a pair of headphones that whisper demonic messages into your ears, even when not plugged in. When plugged into a computer or other device, the device shows horrible images.

People who use the headphones find themselves becoming addicted to listening to them, and the headphones slowly suck their brains out of their ears.

(This is actually based on a nightmare I had.)

For one thing, the messages whispered are in some sort of guttural demonic language, and all attempts at describing or repeating the sounds made should fail.

Second, did I mention that it literally sucks your brains out? As in, people using the headphones for extended periods of time lose brain matter, as revealed through autopsy of people who died from extended exposure.

Come up with better ideas.

We aren't going to support ideas we don't think will make good SCPs. We'd rather you waited until you had a good idea, and then spent your time on that. A large part of the point of sharing ideas around first is to weed out bad ideas (the other being to improve on good ideas).

Okay, I'm going to simplify this a bit. Instead of being outright demonic, the headphones simply translate all lyrics into a strange language. People who hear the language claim to understand what the lyrics mean, but can't quite explain the meaning of the song out loud or provide a direct translation.

… I'm not too sure what else they should do, but I think they should definitely have some sort of detrimental effect for those who use them for extended periods of time.

It's just not a great SCP idea in general. Oh noes, headphones that spit out DEMONIC AUDIO.

Sounds more like a gimmicky item than a SCP.

Headphones full of crazy noises have never done well on the wiki. It's actually been done dozens of times before you, but none of those previous attempts remain for a reason. I don't know if the general idea could ever be made to work, as this idea is it would end up like all the other ideas that were pretty much exactly like it.
